I was just reading. These 14 people are in Jimmie Carter's "Think tank". Wow, I had no idea he had a think tank. Too bad he did not have a think tank when he was president. Why did they jump ship from his think tank?

This will be the most unpopular decision made by Bush ever. Whats behind this? Why is he escalating the war? What is the plan? As much as I want to support him, I think this move is very questionable. It can only make things worse. Am I right?

This so called plan for one more try to win in Iraq is dead on arrival. It seems more like a cover for excuse to attack other Countries that are not cooperating with the US. If not, please let me know why else Bush would be sending 26 thousand more Soldiers and Marines to Anbar, the borders area and Baghdad in a fruitless attempt to get one side of the fight, the Shia, to attack its own army? Oh sure!

As in if the congress stops loaning funds for the war and there's no money to support it. What would be your reaction?

I'd be surprised, but glad it's finally over and no more innocent lives would be lost.

because they are idiots?

FRED BARNES: Well, in truth, as Senator Reid said, the president is not doing what his commanders on the ground have urged, mainly because their policy has failed. Baghdad is not secure. It's the -- it's the center of great chaos and turmoil and violence in Iraq.

So he's done what Abraham Lincoln did. When your commanders are not winning, you bring in new commanders. And after all, he is the commander in chief.

Like many, I'm concerned about the additional soldiers being sent to Iraq... I just wonder if it would be better overall if he did not order soldiers to go there but to ask for volunteers. I feel certain Bush would get enough volunteers if he would simply ask for service; sure, it's easier for him to just give the orders... but wouldn't it be great to send an all-volunteer force since it looks like our presence in Iraq will be increased anyway?

I never had a sargeant like this when I was in the army. Man oh man, if so I might have re-enlisted.

Is there any reason besides the U.S. nuclear arsenal to contradict the idea that we are headed towards WWIII? Is the world too complacent and fun-loving to stand up to an old-fashioned threat? Does not believing WWIII will happen indicate a conspiracy, that the war is a show put up to decieve the underpriveleged? Does the trend towards a wealthy America gaurantee its short-term survival? Are there answers other than war to a militant opposition? Doesn't the U.N. play a military role in "peace-keeping"? Do the leaders of the world really know what's going on?

I live in the New Orleans area. Although i was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, ive been down here for one and a half years.

The murder rate in New Orleans has been high for a long time (since the 80s) and nearly all of the murders that have happend here have been black on black.

Recently though, there has been more people on other race who have been killed. Ever since then, the media has started to pay more attention to the murders in New Orleans. But people, this has been going on here for decades. Why is it all of a sudden making world news? Is it because the murders that have recently been committed arent black on black? Or is there another reason who it has all of a sudden made world news recently?

I know just about 99.9% of the universe is opposed to Bush's plan, but have we heard about a sensible plan from people who oppose his? Getting the hell out of Iraq cold turkey is out of the question, ask any Democrat politician. It will definatly take time to phase out of Iraq, but has any other politician brought forth a plan of action? I'm not asking to be sarcastic, I'm asking to truly seek an honest answer. Anyone with knowledge about this please let me know. If you have a smart-*** answer, please neglect to leave it.
