the bad guys will move to another part of the area like the experts explained on a huge map on cnn last night. it will take all those new guys to ensure the center is rid of the bad guys. i don't know what they hope to accomplish in the long run. this is urban fighting and numbers really count no new technology or air support can solve this for us. its rifle men no different than world war 2 or 1 for that matter. our guys are totally outnumbered. if the other guys just set up enough snipers and keep chipping away, what will the daily news reports do to patriotic americans? you know, the ones who give a damn!!

The US is not going to be able to clean up this mess. OK, I agree that when the US started it, although, admittedly, there was no exit plan, those in charge thought a blitzkreig style of invasion would give the invaders the upper hand. So a farce of an election was held and a Shia Muslim was put in power. Now that same Prime Minister is pushing for the invaders to get out so the real civil war can begin.
Instead Bush has decided to send in more Americans to serve as cannon fodder. He admits the whole thing was a royal screw up in so many words, but there wont be any one close to him or his buddies sent.Surpise!!!!!!!. The die is cast & I can't see any way out that is not going to cost many more lives.

I don't think it's a real good strategy. We have already lost 3,000 troops. That is almost the number of people lost during the twin tower incident, and we will only lose more. Even if the soldiers survive, they will still suffer the psychological effects of war.

That depends on what you want to hear.

If you hope for a more stable Iraq then that would be a good thing.

If you want an unstable Iraq then that would be a bad thing.

this message given to you in the hope that history won't repeat itself.....you know, Vietnam

Thank you to All of our Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen who have helped to keep this country strong enough to defend the weak.

First we can expect a high fatality rate on our side...this is a hot spot he's talking about sending the troops to..so it will probably be more warlike...i dont know if its a good or bad idea..i dont know enough logistics.

I think it's time to let Iraq take care of Iraq. and BRING OUR TROOPS HOME--not send more of them over there.

The citizens will have to resolve the issues themselves. We can't fix their country. The 'terrorist' groups over there (and here) are like violent street gangs and groups like the KKK over here. We all pray not to lose any more of our own people.
