because they are idiots?

FRED BARNES: Well, in truth, as Senator Reid said, the president is not doing what his commanders on the ground have urged, mainly because their policy has failed. Baghdad is not secure. It's the -- it's the center of great chaos and turmoil and violence in Iraq.

So he's done what Abraham Lincoln did. When your commanders are not winning, you bring in new commanders. And after all, he is the commander in chief.

Because they are desperately trying to prop up his poll numbers. Faux News is the Republican lap dog. They hitched their wagon to George Bush. If he goes down, they go down.

My take:

1. You answered your own question when you labeled Fox news as 'Faux' news. They aren't by any stretch of the imagination a news organization, but rather entertainment.

2. If there were more money to be made by echoing and exaggerating the liberal talking points they would. I really don't think they're ideologues, but just greedy money grubbers (which incidentally does make a nice alignment with the political right, doesn't it?) The money is on the conservative side because that type of mindset it more easily persuaded by 'sound-bite journalism' and vitriolic attacks.

3. OK, maybe some of #2 is a little vitriolic itself, but I'm tired of the wingnuts always laying claim to the higher moral ground. The only way they get anywhere is by being the loudest, most obnoxious participants in any debate.

4. Clarification of the 2nd sentence in #4: If logic supports your position, argue logic. If reason supports your position, argue reason. If your position is supported by neither logic or reason, pound the table and yell.

I grow weary. Thanks for the question.

I would imagine because Lincoln's approval rating was pretty low during his presidency as well and alot of the nation thought the Civil War was stupid & pointless.
