Is there any reason besides the U.S. nuclear arsenal to contradict the idea that we are headed towards WWIII? Is the world too complacent and fun-loving to stand up to an old-fashioned threat? Does not believing WWIII will happen indicate a conspiracy, that the war is a show put up to decieve the underpriveleged? Does the trend towards a wealthy America gaurantee its short-term survival? Are there answers other than war to a militant opposition? Doesn't the U.N. play a military role in "peace-keeping"? Do the leaders of the world really know what's going on?

I'm fun loving too, so it makes me wonder, for example, if my love of conspiracy theories is distracting me from a field change of evil tendencies in life. My life seems a lot better than lives around me. So why wouldn't there be some dark force of revenge from the subconscious, or even a seperate society that has the zeal to perpetuate latent ideas.
Can we say that Lennon or JFK weren't assassinated? If an individual can be assassinated, can we not say that a society can be assassinated? If society cannot be assassinated, does that not indicate an order that transcends war? Can I really believe that life is about entertainment--and the rest of my life is a means merely to placate my fleshy needs? Call me a madman, but just because life has been a particular way does not mean it will continue to be so, c.f. Hume.
