We may get a president someday in the future....who reads. Oh, and doesn't believe that God speaks directly to him.

The hanging of Saddam Hussain was a good current event.
20 million Iraqis are dancing in the street. I was afraid that they
were going to mess around and let him escape like they did ,
his no 2. Good current events dont get much press attention as
it wont sell newspapers. Gm just announced that it is developing
a car that will run for 40 miles, before you have to run on gasoline
and may be out in 3 or 4 years. If they suceed, it would be earth
shaking and greatly reduce our dependance on oil. There are
plenty of good things developing all the time, but they usually
just evolve instead of being called a current events. Like humans
losing their tails. It probably just withered away over many thousand years of uselessness

Melissa..this is a double edged question. and the answer is not obvious. many events would be considered "current" depending on your interest, your age, the country you are from and a multitude of 1001 questions. this is serious business. what you see in the news media is not necessarily "current" to all of us. No need to repeat "Iraq" -- I would respectfully add -- the global warming or climate change as top priority too. I suggest you turn on both TV. and radio and some serious newspapers -- you will read lots about current events. Hopefully you are beginning to make your own decision on which one is important.

DJIA closed at an all-time high today at about 12,517. Very good for investors in blue-chip stocks.
Also, the 109th Congress was able to protect some tax provisions from sunsetting at the last minute, so investors will continue to enjoy lower tax rates for 2006.

How about the news about the Comet McNaught. The brightest comet to come along in a long time. Visisble in the southwestern sky just after dusk and before dawn.
