So many of the posts are from people who are "tired" of hearing about 9/11.

Is empathy dead? Has the value of human life declined to the point where no one cares about anyone else?

It is very sad. Please share some thoughts that will - hopefully - contradict this.

It seems like people are so very selfish now. But also unaware.

Would he have been arrested later? I wouldn't have gone to rescue, even if it meant going to prison.

Ok, 9/11 was a horrible thing but isn't moving on apart of the grieving process? When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor I bet they didnt go on and on about it like we are doing. The only reason we are drowning in this 9/11 sea of ennui is because we have an idiot for the President who has a stupid war for Oil and now we have all our soilders dying because of him. Bush is an @$$. Don't forget the victims but dont keep pulling off the scab either. Am I wrong??

But I have been watching and listening to the 9/11 replays all day (the actual footage from 9/11/01) and the questions being asked on YAHOO Answers seem to be so stupid. Anyone feeling me? Am I just being sensitive because of watching and listening to the replays?

i live in san francisco, and know that it was much different for those of you in the immediate area of the WTC. can you please tell me what your experience was like?

for me when i found out about it i was just hopping out of the shower getting ready to go to school & i heard my mom scream... (she just turned on the news and the second plane just hit right in front of her on live tv) & i ran to see what had happened... it was surreal... i live on the west coast...in san francisco, and i was shaking with fear that we were going to be a target too. needless to say i did not finish getting ready for school both my mother & i stayed glued to the tv all day long. those poor families...may all of the victims rest in peace, (those that died on 9/11, and those that have had any other 9/11 related deaths) and for the families, please know that your loved ones will never be forgotten...

thank you for sharing your experience...

I am listening to Stern's replay from 9/11, and am finding that I cannot even cry anymore. When I say numb, pls understand I do not mean like numb as in who cares. Numb as in still in shock, and yet, I cannot stop myself from listening to more. My stomach is just plain nautious listening to all the reports and all the reports that are so incorrect because of all of the madness that was going on. No one knew anything. Reports were just flying in from all sources.

Bless all their souls.

I was very sad to learn of Stevo's death last week. His show was something that brought our whole family together to learn about conservation and respect for the interdependence of all creation.
As I reflected...and actually sobbed off and on all last week...my heart and prayers went out to Terri, Bindi, Bob and friends.
As a mother of two, I could not help but feel for Terri as she must be moving from disbelief, shock, anger, and sorrow at his passing, but even to be asking "WHY, why, why...!?"
Perhaps it was a complex message... there is meaning in the madness. Perhaps his death was to protect little Bindi and Bob, perhaps one of them could have died a much, much earlier death. Perhaps they will benefit to grow into unique and much more respectful/cautious individuals because of the harsh example of their father's death. Of all creation Stevo would want to protect, it would be them. Maybe his final act is/was what will prolong and protect his children from just such a tragedy.
