TRUE Christianity really has nothing to do with the church you may, or may not , attend. It is about accepting the love and forgiveness offered by Jesus the Christ for ALL mankind. When you do that, and allow it to fill your heart, you will see "what it is all about." Words alone cannot explain the peace that enters you when you do. That doesn't make you a door mat, just a person who knows who you really are. Christianity is NOT a religion, it is a relationship with God, through Jesus (Yes, he is God too, but a distinct part of the Godhood, along with the Holy Spirit). You won't believe this until you give it an honest shot. What have you got to loose?

Christianity in a nutshell basically means that you believe in certain things (in the Bible) and you believe in Christ, without the need for church attendance. I would consider myself a Christian if I had to define myself. It is not better than any other form of religion, in fact, most people who say they're Christians usually don't follow a specific religion/sect.

Regardless of what others tell you, you won't be struck down by lightning if you don't attend every Sunday. (and Wednesday if you're Baptist) God is not 'out to get you'. He loves us all, I just wish everyone could figure that out and stop persecuting others for 'falling short of the glory of God'. =)

My understanding is that it started with a bunch of people following a Jewish guy they named Christ. They have continued to do it for a really long time, so he must have been a pretty cool dude.
