European diplomats may meet with Iran in hopes of de-escalating the standoff over Tehran's nuclear program, but the United States WON'T be getting an invite. As usual, Condi Rice is ready to push for more clarity about sanctions that could be imposed on Iran, while Bush has sent a strong signal to the United Nations that the United States will "not tolerate delay tactics."
Iran's meeting with EU reps will be scheduled BEFORE a Tuesday night gathering being attended by representatives of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council (including Condi of course) and a few other nations.

humm. is the United States "Big Man in charge" tactic being undermined. Looks like Condi is much more upset that the EU wants to go ahead w/OUT the USA, than she is that the EU was able to secure a meeting in the first place.

Oh and yes, Who's side am I on?
The side of Peace.
The side of NO More Wars!

I think that spending $20 million dollars to go on a ride in space is a moral waste when people are dying daily of starvation and disease all over the world. And to be rewarded for it by the press by them doing articles on her just boggles my mind. What do these people who waste vast amounts of money have for brains or are they just totally selfish? Does anyone else think this is a bad thing?

any truth to the rumors he was actually killed by a croc, but the sting ray story was made up to protect his work with crocs? This would explain why the video, which he said he would want shown, doesn't look like it's going to be released now

I'm just wondering if there is still a drug problem in this country. I haven't seen a headline about a really big drug bust in quite a long loing time.

The Pope on Sunday apologised in person for causing offence in the speech.

"I am deeply sorry for the reactions in some countries to a few passages of my address at the University of Regensburg, which were considered offensive to the sensibility of Muslims," he told pilgrims.

Pope Benedict XVI
I hope this serves to appease hearts and to clarify the true meaning of my address
Pope Benedict XVI

Text of Pope's apology
Excerpts from original speech
"These in fact were a quotation from a medieval text, which do not in any way express my personal thought.
"I hope this serves to appease hearts and to clarify the true meaning of my address, which in its totality was and is an invitation to frank and sincere dialogue, with mutual respect."

my comments, Muslims deserved the Apology , No leader should post such comments about other religion, even if he was just quoting some 400 years old text,he was intolerate and very disrespectful towards the muslim.

...oh, I can feel a conspiracy theory brewing up... Maybe 'Papa Ratzi' said all that on purpose, just to 'test the water' or maybe he knew Muslims would react violently and this would make them look bad.

He looks the sneaky type; I think he's going after the Muslims.

I think Papa's got a brand new bag.

the pope apologized, and in his appologie he said that the quote he used, did in no way reflect his personal views.
If it did not reflect his personal views, why did he use that quote?
Is he a hipocrite, or as the Gemans say, ein scheinheiliger mensch
