European diplomats may meet with Iran in hopes of de-escalating the standoff over Tehran's nuclear program, but the United States WON'T be getting an invite. As usual, Condi Rice is ready to push for more clarity about sanctions that could be imposed on Iran, while Bush has sent a strong signal to the United Nations that the United States will "not tolerate delay tactics."
Iran's meeting with EU reps will be scheduled BEFORE a Tuesday night gathering being attended by representatives of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council (including Condi of course) and a few other nations.

humm. is the United States "Big Man in charge" tactic being undermined. Looks like Condi is much more upset that the EU wants to go ahead w/OUT the USA, than she is that the EU was able to secure a meeting in the first place.

Oh and yes, Who's side am I on?
The side of Peace.
The side of NO More Wars!

I really think that the negotiations without US will bring a positive result...'Cos ,unlike US,the EU is negotiating with Iran from an equal position...US threats Iran with sanctions and even a military intervention...US wants to tell Iran how to deal with its internal affairs...Of course no one will ever accept to be told how to deal with what is happening inside the country...'Cos I really don't think that Iran's nuclear program is a threaten to the world security...
I really think that Iran will be more opened to talk when it's not threaten....

The reason why they don't want us there is because Iran dosen't really want to negotiate anything, and he knows that he won't have to because the UN is basically a neutered babysitting service, only there for looks. Iran wants nuclear weapons. If you want peace, you have to prepare for War. If you think for one minute that Iran having nukes won't be a threat for us, than you obviously enjoy hiding under the covers.

The chances of successful negotiation are higher as opposed to when US is on the team.
