the pope apologized, and in his appologie he said that the quote he used, did in no way reflect his personal views.
If it did not reflect his personal views, why did he use that quote?
Is he a hipocrite, or as the Gemans say, ein scheinheiliger mensch

I think apologizing for telling the truth about Islam is hypocritical. So the Muslims around the world were angry. Jesus told us we would be blessed to suffer for His Name's sake. Of all people in the world to stand up for Christ and not knuckle under to the anger and violence, it should be the Pope.

The Pope did not apologize for what he quoted.
He said he "felt bad" if he had "offended Muslims".
There is a difference. And yes, I have read the ENTIRE so-called lecture.
..and the Pope, or someone, decided that the quote was a good quote...like a sign of times.
The Pope represents his religion. The Muslims represent still another religion. And so on and so on and so on.
But the Pope is NOT GOD.
He simply leads his flock
His way of thinking does not mirror the thoughts or beliefs of everyone in the entire world.
So. is he a hypocrit?
To some, he is
To others, he is not.

Have you actually read what the Pope said?

Here is a link to the English translation of the Pope's controversial speech: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/speeches/2006/september/documents/hf_ben-xvi_spe_20060912_university-regensburg_en.html

With love in Christ.

A nun was killed and I think losing more lives because of his statement wasn't worth it.

If it was just his life that was being threatened he will stand by his quote....innocent people are being threatened.

We're not dealing with people who play fair......he did what he had to do under the circumstances.

The question is ridiculous. Of course the pope is not a hypocrite. Have you read the original lecture in which he used this quote? If you haven't, shut up!

Maybe if you actually read at least that part of his original speach you would understand & possibly ask an intelligent question.

I don't think he should have apologized in the first place...I don't hear the mullahs, imams and clerics apologizing for the TERRIBLE things that they say on a daily basis. I just think religion is too much apart of politics/society and decision-making today...it is scary........
