No. Blaming music for suicides and terrible actions are just people who need to find someone to blame. Judas Priest was sued by parents of a teenage suicide listening to Beyond the Realms of Death. Ozzy Osbourne was sued by parents of a teenage suicide listening to Suicide Solution. A deranged person is going to do their deranged acts to some soundtrack or another but that does not give blame to said soundtrack...

No, he was mentally deranged and it was a compilation of events that pushed him over the edge. I don't think he had much support from his peers and family either.
Is this a glimpse into what our society is becoming? Are we slowly creating a society of psychopaths? If someone had showed some concern about his mental health, would this tragedy have been avoided today? So many people should be held accountable for this: His parents, family, friends, peers, guidance counselors, teachers, the educational system. I think that this tragedy is a symptom of something drastically lacking in our community. We must develop a way to detect this type of irrational behaviour during the early stages. We cannot just bury our heads in the sand and pretend that it does not affect us.
Blaming the music is a poor excuse.

Don't know about Dawson, Montreal but if the bloke next door to me doesn't turn his flippin' jungle music down I'll - I'll - I'll - well, I think I'll kick his cat!

I wonder what people would say about someone killing them-self to classical music. Would they blame the music or think that the person just wanted classical music to take them into death.

You can't blame the music, though it probably did nothing positive for his "on-the-edge" mindset-what he did was snap crazy and you can't blame anyone or anything for his craziness. The guy had mental issues.

No, he was a lunatic. Too bad he wasn't identified as trouble earlier, although I don't know what could have been done to stop him when he chose to kill.

Who knows for sure, but it does seem to be a common thread in a lot of such cases. You can't ignore it completely.

no, i think when people do something wrong... they find something else to blame. unless he was psychologically challenged. you know he had total control of his actions.
