Try looking up Newspaper names (ex New York Times) on Yahoo. You will get the front pages. This will show you which stories are hot right now.

TIME, NEWSWEEK, US NEWS AND WORLD REPORT are all magazines available in any library, even your school library. Watching the news, both local and national news programs, and reading the newspaper will also give you all of the current events you need because all will discuss what is now happening in the world and community. The Middle East saga has been beat to death, (if you know what I mean?) Try finding information on what China is up to these days. They have a 200 million man military yet we rarely see much mention of them in the news.
