What, are we not allowed to say anything that anybody disagrees with? Believe me, lots of people say things I disagree with, and I have never killed any of them or threatened them with violence. Instead, I talk back! I talk better than my opponent! Only bad people use violence against those who disagree with them.

When boys and girls were getting molested by Priests, the last Pope said "let's ignore it and it will go away". That didn't work.
Another former Pope did not challenge the Nazi's to stop thier behavior; last Pope apologized for that. Lots of apologizing.
This Pope seems to be close to having had enough! So he's putting it out there: Muslims need to change for the better.
So far a Somalian has shot a nun and her bodyguard to death (in the back). Not sure if that's related since a lot of people get shot in Somalia, but still the Pope really should not call them cold blooded murderers, it offends them.

The Pope was reading a quote from the 14th century, which has been taken out of context as the pope's own beliefs.
If the Muslim people of the world are so opposed to being seen as a violent people, then they should collectively show restraint and not get violent to protest this incident. Freedom of speech and religion are hallmarks of Western democracies. Most Muslims, I suspect, are peaceful non-violent people. It is the violence prone Muslims, unfortunately, who get all the media attention, and the ones who are ruining Islam for everyone.

I hope people will soon quit comparing the Christian religion to that of the Muslim. http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/moongod.htm Try doing a little digging and researching and you may find the differences. He should have told the Muslim world not to overreact the way they do. They just proved the point. He should never have apologized for telling the truth.

I'm not sure what you mean by "all that on purpose". President Bush may say things he may not mean and try to "get out of", but the Pope does does not say things he does not mean. He meant every word, and I support his word.
True Muslims are responsible for "standing up" for their beliefs; but those same Muslims are also responsible for "standing down" for those who profess non-Muslim beliefs, and admonishing the "traitors" who don't.
True Muslims, around the world, unite and end this travesty!

No.
The Muslims only heard what they wanted to hear (selective hearing again!) and now they are in an uproar because once again they are being persecuted. Give me a break! These people need something else to do with their pathetic lives.

Of course he said it on purpose. He's a brilliant person, the former Head Inquisitor. He has his reasons. And his methods.
