Another victory was won last night (Saturday) in a London pub against the Smoking Ban in pubs when one drunk lighting a cigarette prompted a spontaneous demonstration of people power when he was asked to leave by the door staff. He was very quickly surrounded by 20 other people, all strangers, who quickly lit up cigarettes to join him. Word quickly spread within the local area and by the time the Police arrived there was close to 80 people all smoking and drinking in the pub.

The Police very wisely decided to withdraw and advised the landlord not to prevent people smoking as it was likely to cause a breach of the peace. The landlord was very happy with this news as his pub had not been this busy on a Saturday night since long before the ban and very quickly produced a whole box of stored ashtrays. A GREAT NIGHT WAS HAD BY ALL!!!

Have you had this happen in your area yet? How long can this stupid law survive if people decide to act together with total strangers in this way? It was fantastic to witness and be a part of.

Seems to me like they have no code of conduct requirements for who they will represent is what I'm saying. I mean, standing up for Mike Vick well, that really has nothing at all to do with Vick being black so why do they want to tell the NFL how to run it's business when the man is guilty of serious crimes? Where do they come off saying 'Ok, he's a bad guy, did some bad things, but we dont' think you should run your business the way you want to'.
How do they justify doing this?
I'm all for equality so let the man be judged as a man, not as a special man because his skin is the correct color to gain the support of the NAACP.

This is astonishing - a statement from Gerry McCann saying that they will be scaling down the campaign to find their missing daughter. Considering we have be talking, watching, reading about it for the last three months, why scale the media attention now? She's not been found yet...

McCanns to scale down their media campaign

Gerry McCann also said about the Liverpool family devastated by their son's murder.

"Kate and I were incredibly shocked to hear of the news [of Rhys Jones]. It is a terrible waste of a young life. They, of course, have our sympathy,” he said.

He added that he hoped Rhys’s parents were given time to grieve. But he revealed some of his own torment in a direct comparison between the McCann and the Jones families.

“Both sets of parents are in the middle of terrible traumas. They, however, will have closure. We don’t,” he said"

Amazing...

Why do we need Popular Mechanics and History Channel to attempt to debunk alternative 9/11 theories if the original conspiracy theory and the 9/11 Commission Report were strong enough to stand on its own?

The problem about the original story of 9/11 is in order to buy into it, you have to accept EVERY ridiculous explanation of why we were caught with our pants down. If you don't accept the ENTIRE story as truth, then with even the smallest discrepancy and the original conspiracy crumbles like a house of cards.

I'm reading the Popular Mechanics book and it debunks some of the weaker 9/11 theories (no planes, Lucky Larry Silverstein's "pull it") but doesn't address the massive Israeli spy ring that FAUX News reported on, and was then mysteriously pulled the report from their website:

In all kids have far more opportunities than they did say 50 years ago, and yet the crime rate is soaring!

Personally, i think its to do with the break down of the traditional family, bad parenting, indiscipline in schools and the influence of african american urban music forms like rap, hip hop etc.

Much of that is due to the PC brigade, who insist on treating kids as "citizens" rather than children who need to be guided, taught and where necessary, disciplined.

For many years the "right on" brigade have had the education system in its grip, teachers are not allowed to teach in a traditional way, they are not allowed to discipline kids etc, and pupils have no respect or fear whatsoever for authority.

In many areas, the traditional nuclear family has simply ceased to exist, kids are produced with no more thought than that taken to produce a turd! There is often no father figure, often the mother does not work, and again the kids have no grounding or discipline at home.

i live in thailand,on the news tonite in southern thailand muslims planted a bomb targetting bhuddist priests,of all the religions on this planet at the moment, why kill bhuddists?.all they do is preach peace, they are totally non violent, just walk around gathering alms(food).what threat are they to your 'god'.tonite fortunately they missed and only killed an innocent (as usual) bystander.the reason, as we are led to believe,is that you muslims believe that your god or beliefs are the only ones that should be allowed.in the past you have used your barbaric methods of cutting their heads off.what is your problem?,who says your god is the only one?.

I am still in shock that such a crime to happen to an innocent child out playing football.
I just hope this gets as much publicity as the Maddy McCann. I want to see guns banned and more severe penalities for these people who think it is okay to go out shooting.
I cried when i saw the devastated Mother of the dead boy. So very sad. I cannot imagine the pain, anger and grief she is going trough and wish we could do something to help like folk helped the McCanns by donating to this fund. I'm not sure what help we could do here though.

dont you find it sickening the mccanns have gained much more a higher profile around the world . than the mother of ben needlem (the toddler who went missing many years ago and would now be 17). it is obvious to see. and curiously bens mum was a single parent .(not so well to do as the mcaans with their flash lifestyle). what does this spell out to you?.i have sympathy for bens mum. but certainly none for the mccans. it is one huge joke that they are getting much more help than bens mum ever did. game of cludo ...anyone?.

I feel Vick deserves what he got, but at the same time other questions arise. The world is in uproar about this scandal yet forgets that there are players in the NFL that have been convicted of harsh crimes against people, yet no spotlight. Assult, Murder, Shootings, Beating spouses, these go unchecked yet Vick killed his dogs, does anyone see the irony in this. One more thing, when greyhounds are unable to race anymore, they are killed, not in such a harsh way, yet still killed, yet I don't see hands across America to stop this. I just think as a society we need to pay a little more attention to the big picture, and not just blindly join the mob mentality.

I am a practical person who is neither an extreme conspiracy theorist nor an extreme skeptic/debunker. That being said, lets get to the question. Keeping your personal opinions and beliefs aside, please answer this question in your most scientific, third person, practical manor.

Q: Why would Federal and/or local authorities withhold footage from three Virginia Department of Transportation 24hr traffic and road condition cameras which filmed permanent fixed angles outside the Pentagon, that contain the cleanest footage and images of the attack on the pentagon? Remember, this is a straight forward question that does not ask for personnel beliefs or opinions about situations that took place on 9/11. Thank You.

I find almost all news agencies refer to certain middle eastern cities as "the holy city of ...". Why do they do that? How do they know which are truly "holy" cities? For fair reporting shouldn't they say "the allegedly holy city of..."?

Is this just PC directed to Muslims that would never be afforded to Christians or Jews? When was the last time you saw a news paper or TV refer to "the Holy city of Jerusalem"?

Even in the USA we have cities named after saints (like San Francisco for St. Francis) but no one would ever say "the holy city of San Francisco"!

--most pronounced on the east coast in New York and New Jersey--in response to a radio broadcast put on by Orson Welles and his Mercury Theater On The Air. The public reaction has prompted decades of research into mass hysteria, been used as a model by the military around the world to design information warfare against enemy troops and civilian populace, Welles was a genius. He had people believing there was an invasion, then he turned around and told them that it was all a joke.

My question is this: are people too smart to believe such foolishness these days? It seems people of the 30's must have been fairly stupid and gullible.
