I feel Vick deserves what he got, but at the same time other questions arise. The world is in uproar about this scandal yet forgets that there are players in the NFL that have been convicted of harsh crimes against people, yet no spotlight. Assult, Murder, Shootings, Beating spouses, these go unchecked yet Vick killed his dogs, does anyone see the irony in this. One more thing, when greyhounds are unable to race anymore, they are killed, not in such a harsh way, yet still killed, yet I don't see hands across America to stop this. I just think as a society we need to pay a little more attention to the big picture, and not just blindly join the mob mentality.

Many of do pay attention to the big picture but this event needs to be addressed also, you can't just give up on the small items. The past in the NFL is the past. The NFL has recently set a new policy to deal with the illegal actions of its players realizing that it has gotten out of control. We should commend the NFL to really start addressing with the regresses off the field that no other league has started to even look at. Yes it would have been great if they could have suspended players involved in manslaughter cases, domestic\ violence, etc in the past but with the new policy any of these in the future will be hammered home to the players with automatic suspensions by the Commissioner.

No, there is no double standard. Those convicted of crimes are ounished for those crimes. In the Michael Vick case, he is apparently being allowed a plea bargain that will reduce his ultimate sentence. There is a difference between dog racing, which is legal in some states, though not all, and dog fighting, which is illegal in all states and in many nations. Vick's fate is really his own choice. He chose to go into an illegal business and will have to face the consequences of that choice.

Vick is getting more attention because he's a superstar. Just like with the Kobe Bryant sexual assault case. I think Kwame Brown and others underwent the same sort of thing but didn't get nearly as much attention because they aren't superstars like Vick or Bryant.

I do see the irony, too. Just the way it is I guess.

All of these morons who run wild while making millions playing in the NFL should be all held to a simple standard. The NFL is a private organization and has the ability to set their own agenda. All of these criminals should be kicked out of the game, not just Micheal Vick.

ur right. Vick is a prick so are the others. Pacman Jones was involved in a shooting that crippled a guy. I think that the media ran with this because of ratings, which does not excuse Vick,

Those are all pre Roger Goodell. Goodell has vowed to clean up the NFL. Little should never have been allowed back. He should still be rotting in jail
Double standard, I don't think so. Ask Pacman Jones if there is a double standard.

This not 100% about the dogs it's more about the money that he funded. They reason that the money crossed state lines. It is also very sicking that why the dogs were killed, body slammed to death. It's very sad!
