I am still in shock that such a crime to happen to an innocent child out playing football.
I just hope this gets as much publicity as the Maddy McCann. I want to see guns banned and more severe penalities for these people who think it is okay to go out shooting.
I cried when i saw the devastated Mother of the dead boy. So very sad. I cannot imagine the pain, anger and grief she is going trough and wish we could do something to help like folk helped the McCanns by donating to this fund. I'm not sure what help we could do here though.

I have an 11 year old son, so I really feel for Rhys's parents. It was heartbreaking watching them on the news.
It's getting too easy for youngsters to get guns, knives etc.Us Brits wont tolerate this, and many are willing to come forward with information.Same with that biker that was killed near Stratford recently, many witnesses came forward.

Hand guns are already banned in UK. My own view is that when these people are found guilty a life sentence should be given and mean just that. No more and no less. I'm tired of these people besmirching the name of my home town and can only hop that he Courts take into account the wishes of most people that a very severe sentence must be passes on anyone who carries out a crime with the use of firearms.

I thought that guns were banned. I agree with you though. The laws need to change to sort out the youth crime and stop things like this ever happening again. The person that committed this atrocity should get life in prison and nothing less. I don't agree with giving soft sentences due to age. If you don't know right from wrong you belong behind bars for the safety of everyone.

I agree it is very very sad, i also had a weep when i saw the parents of Rhys on the TV, there is nothing we can do for the family, but maybe concentrating our frustration on the government is the way to go, i think there are many people in this country that have had enough of the govs lack lustre running of this country and it is time they took notice of what the public think. x

And what are the parent's saying about what they're kds did or are involved in? Have they appologized to the little boys family?
What a scary world we live in!

It's really shocking and sad, my sympathy goes to his family and friends.

I agree with you that guns should be banned, but somehow a little of me thinks that banning guns won't solve the issues unfortunately.

the world's stopped spinning and is upside down now, with not only just little innocent kids being involved and harmed due to serious, unfair crimes committed BY KIDS and TEENAGERS around their same age with no sense and consideration.

It also directly affects other teenagers as people do not trust them.

I think a fund should be setup for his family. If it is good enough for the Mc's to setup their own fund, then surely it is good enough for another. I am 100% all for a fund to be setup in the memory of little Rhys Jones. I would be the first person to donate to it too.
