It's rather ironic isn't it. Ben got snatched from his mother's garden which you think would be safe. She doesn't get much press. Then we have the mccanns who wilfully neglected their babies in favour of the local eatery and they get bags of attention. Mind you, the press was totally driven by Gerry and his family - I hear today that Gerry is complaining that he is getting too much press - who the hell does he think he is! The difference between the two cases is dignity and probably guilt - Ben's mother did nothing wrong - the McCanns did everything wrong.

yeah, I agree with Lola, no parent in their right mind would go to a foreign country and then go and leave a 4 year old child alone while they buggered off to have dinner. I truly hope the little girl is found safe and sound, but her parents need to be held accountable for their negliegence, and like someone else said, The McCanns meeting the Pope is just disgusting. What about all the other poor kids that have been kidnapped or worse over the years, perhaps if they had had even half the attention Maddie McCann's disappearance has had, they would have been found.

I agree with your point to a degree but I think that it has more to do with who you know rather than whether you are a single parent or not. From what I have read on the McCanns it seems that they know people in high places and have the power to manipulate the media and authorities more than the average person. I feel for Ben's family but I don't think that it is to do with class as much as it is to do with position. How I wish that I had anywhere near the amount of contacts that the McCanns have. They even have a contact for the times by the sound of it. The most important person I know is the manager of a Ben and Jerrys ice cream shop.....Not sure that will help me at any point in my life.

Hello. I live in the U.S., and I have seen the coverage of the McCann's daughter's abduction. I don't really know what else has transpired that you refer to about their lifestyle. I don't think that aspect has been covered here.
But saying all that, how can you not feel sympathy for anyone who has lost a child and that child is probably dead, killed by someone? I think it's awful. I feel sympathy for anyone who has lost a child, Ben's mother and the McCanns. How awful to not know what happened to your child. They did do a stupid thing for leaving their children alone, but we heard this is normal in European culture. Is this not so? I hope they get closure or find their child. It's heartbreaking to every mother, rich or poor.

as quickly as we beat Liverpool 2-0 at homestead, me, my brother and my 10 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous nephew have been on the bus homestead. We have been all in Newcastle shirts yet my nephew, being a toddler, replaced into in finished equipment with headband, flag hat etc. making a song a number of the songs he had heard on the tournament. Like young ones do yano. and four Liverpool followers, elderly 18 - 30, began to shout abuse at us with reference to the end result, it replaced into frequently banter and that they tried it with my nephew. he's autistic, he's no longer gentle with direct verbal substitute on the better of cases under no circumstances ideas a drunken, loud unusual guy. So the 18 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous suggested (in a thick London accessory) 'what's the difficulty with him, he a retard mate?'. I instructed him that truthfully, definite, he has autism. He began guffawing and chanting approximately him being a retard and threw a paper cup at him. I caught it interior the air and threw it decrease back at him. all of them stood up and the 18 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous threw a inexpensive punch at me. Me and my brother, the two knowledgeable in martial arts and him being an ex-squaddie... for confident the placement ended worse for them than us yet nevertheless, scumbags.

I can definately see where you are coming from, however I would never want to judge the mcanns or any other parent that has had their child taken from them. No body can say for definate what has happened to little ben or maddie but I am sure that you will agree with me when I say I hope they are both still alive and would never want this situation to happen to anyone else.

Never even heard of Ben Needlem so obviously that's how big the McCanns are.
My parents never ever ever left me alone, I never even had a babysitter when I was little, if I was in bed there'd always be someone downstairs and I can't imagine waking up to find my parents having dinner across the resort when I need them - it sickens me that anyone would do that.
And guess what? The kid got snatched! Well it SERVES YOU RIGHT for leaving her. All those pictures of the McCanns meeting the Pope and stuff is just a sick joke. They were negligent.

I do not find it sickening I just accept it as part of life. Some situations are for some unknown reason more newsworthy than others. neither I or the Media know why
