i live in thailand,on the news tonite in southern thailand muslims planted a bomb targetting bhuddist priests,of all the religions on this planet at the moment,why kill bhuddists?.all they do is preach peace,they are totally non violent,just walk around gathering alms(food).what threat are they to your 'god'.tonite fortunately they missed and only killed an innocent (as usual) bystander.the reason, as we are led to believe,is that you muslims believe that your god or beliefs are the only ones that should be allowed.in the past you have used your barbaric methods of cutting their heads off.what is your problem?,who says your god is the only one?.

Good question. Unfortunately, there is no use trying to reason with irrational beings that believe all "infidels" should be converted or else killed (or "conquered", in ancient times) You begin to notice the different natural group characteristics of different peoples in this world. These groupings are divided on religious, racial, ethic levels. Culture is just a byproduct at the intersection of those three levels. At each level, for each group of people, there is a distinct set of characteristics.

You mentioned two such groupings unintentionally. And for the sake of staying relevant to your question only, the defining characteristics of those groups are:

--Muslims tend to use beheadings, suicide bombings, and other forms of physical harm against others to deal with their problems

--Buddhists tend to use non-violent means of resolving their problems.

It is as rare to hear of a buddhist suicide bomber as it is of a muslim protesting in meditation or setting only himself on fire in protest.

The Muslims in the south of Thailand are 'Indigenous Malays' as the three southernmost provinces were given to Thailand by the British in exchange for other Thai territory which became part of British Burma.

The Muslims in the south want some independence from the Thai government. Some groups want to rejoin Malaysia, some want to become an independent country of their own while other Muslims in the region want greater representation within the Thai government. THAT IS WHY THERE ARE THREE SEPARATE MUSLIM GROUPS IN SOUTHERN THAILAND, and they have been fighting the central government for decades.

Bob was correct when he stated the central government has not been injecting any decent amounts of money into the south for infrastructure or education and health, only militarily.

maybe its cause the thai government has historically given no aid to their muslim population in the south despite them paying taxes and the use US arms to kill off the muslims in the south cause they want to create a muslim state in an area that is ALL muslim

talk about a one sided question to a more complex issue. if you deny that the buddhist govt of thailand is mistreating its muslim citizens in the south...you are a liar and quite ignorant.
