Is this a Great Country or What*? Supposedly the richest and most powerful Country in the World and we still have 40+ Million Americans without Health Care Coverage*...Are you one of the 40+ Million without*?

We all agreed to disagree and debate sensibly over this after we all had a mass cyber brawl and got about 100 violations each last month!

Name calling stopped and we listened to what each debator had to say.

The only thing the majority all agree on is that they neglected their children by leaving them...after this it all goes pear shaped with talk about money, class, colour, aunt Philomena, speculation etc etc...thats what divides people on here, its not that the pro McCanns support leaving young children alone, thats not it at all. I could count on one hand the amount of people who have said it was ok to leave kids at that age. Its comments like McCann lovers, McCann fan club think its ok to leave your kids that causes the problems. It the witch hunt.

Lets clear this up.
If you agree the McCanns were neglectful to leave their children yet you are called a pro McCann, whats your reason for opposing the 'antis'

My problem is most of the comments are not based on fact.

I don't care how many best-selling books she has, I don't care how many fans she's got. A person like her, simply would not be tolerated by the laws of nature.

For Madeleine McCann, they were free for the taking, the shop weren't profiting from it in any way.

Although I found the initial out pouring of greif and the 'yellow ribbon mania' a bit sick, the fact this shop owner is still giving them away made me slightly sad.

What if it transpires that, as many suspect, there is more to the whole thing than meets the eye, how will all these decent and well wishing people feel? Are they being taken for a ride by the McCanns

If, as it claims, the reason for the US invading Iraq was to 'liberate' the people from Saddam and find the weapons of mass destruction, why is it now pressurising the Iraqi government into handing over control of the oil from state control to US multinationals? Could it be that control of the oil was also a reason for invading?

I don't smoke and I don't go to bars. But I am against smoking bans and I believe it is the responsibility of business owners to fight laws hurting their business.

All the people on here who love the mccanns how can you justify the fact they NEGLECTED 3 children. I want Maddy to be found safe and well, but she would not be missing if these terrible people had got a babysitter. There seems to be a divide on here and if you slag off the Mccanns you have no heart? Thats not true, most of the people slagging them off cannot believe how negligent they are.
Also the way they have carried themselves since is appalling, especially Gerry. Not once have they admitted they were wrong or neglected their children.

Sadly, I doubt it. Yet part of me hopes the right thing will be done, for the sake of the USA and the world.

Unfortunately, Bush's removal means that by laws of succession, Dick Cheney is the next president . . . o_O

Did you know that some of their "letters" are written by hacks on that wailing rag? The Times had a piece mentioning it a week or so back. The 1st letter was from a Mrs Patricia Crick of the Wirral, complaining about the grunts of female tennis players at Wimbledon. Strangely, an identical letter appeared in their sister paper, attributed to a Mrs Patricia McMahon, from the considerably more local Dundalk. When questioned about this amazing coincidence, letters staff on the Wail insisted that there must be an error of labelling. Phew, thank goodness for that!
Makes you wonder how far you can trust the Mail to bring you the truth in its editorial content, doesn't it??

Well todays news story about the McCanns seems to be about how the 3 friends of the McCanns who were flown back from Britain to clarify points in their statements have apparently accused Murat of being near the apartment shortly after the alarm was raised. Murat claims he was in his mothers house the whole time.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/07/13/wmccann113.xml

But here's what I dont get. The 3 friends of the McCanns all claim to have seen Murat. Yet strangely no-one else that is not connected with the McCanns has made this claim.

Also we know that this is Murat's 2nd round of interviews and that he was brought back in the 2nd time so that he could meet the friends face to face to discuss the discrepency. So if 'other' people had also made the claim that he was there, then he would have been brought back in a lot more often to confront those people as well.

so it's tough at the top; a miserable old woman finds its irritating to have her hairdresser fix her hair, have her make up applied, get a couple of flunky's to dress her to have her photo taken, whilst being payed handsomely by the taxpayer.
tough gig or what

Lets face it most of the people in the UK are sick of the McCanns. Their blatant neglect of the little ones by leaving them alone for hours while they socialise. Their world tour, meeting the rich and famous. Gerrys blogs. The family blaming everyone but the ones at fault (Kate and Gerry). Most people I speak to think the whole show stinks, and many suspect the McCanns. I pray for poor little Madelaines return, and hope she's safe, but I think it's now over for her.
Why isn't the media saying it like it is?

A couple years ago (borrowing a USSR communist title Czar) Bush created the 2nd in Commander-in-Chief position of "War Czar" to take overall command of the War on Terror, meaning the War in Iraq (though never the twain shall meet)

We haven't heard anything from him since. and I never see his name anywhere in the news.

Anyone see him lately? Shouldn’t he be pretty prominent with all the news from Iraq and Afghanistan, the surge in full swing, the September deadline approaching, the GOP re-election rats abandoning the ship etc.?

It was reported on MSNBD that Hillary was seen kissing a Fred McKeigalaff while coming out of a bar on the northeast side of Manhatten late Monday night. Do you think this will ruin her chances of ever becoming president? Please just answer yes or no. Thank you.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?

"The father of the missing four-year-old Madeleine McCann is to address TV executives about the media's role in the hunt for his daughter. Gerry McCann will appear at the UK's leading media industry event, the Edinburgh TV Festival, in August. Mr McCann joins a festival line-up that ranges from Jeremy Paxman to Sir Jimmy Savile and Jade Goody." (BBC)

Anyone else think this is kind of inappropriate?
