Am I the only person who feels that these peoples problems or lives don't belong on the evening news? Theres a whole channel just for them, "E" which I don't watch. There are shows dedicated to this, like "Current Affair". They have all those magazines in the check-out isle, dedicated to just celebrity gossip. I just don't care what these people are doing, I can't even fake interest anymore. How many times can Paris Hilton be covered without people realizing its the same story from days ago? Does anyone feel the way I do?

[Mr. Powell was discussing Mr. Bush's trip to Europe, and was at a point in his recitation covering certain concerns regarding Russia, and Russia being requested to cooperate with the United States to track down lost Nuclear materials and scientists who were unaccounted for after the break up of Russia, that now may be in the hands of, or in the case of the missing scientists, working for adversaries of the USA.

The quote from Mr. Powell, per the Russian Scientists, that every American "NEEDS" to hear immediately is as follows:

[Colin Powell] - "Finding the Russian scientists may be a problem being that Russia does not have a Social Security System, as here in America, that allows us to MONITOR, TRACK DOWN and CAPTURE an American citizen."]

It seem to me, that TV and Radio, do not fairly present the point of view of Palestinians.
And when it occasionally it does, those in the jewish community who disagree organize radical opposition to the fact that such ideas could even be broadcast or published.
This stifling of the citizen's right to free discourse, makes it difficult for Americans to get the facts they need to participate in the guidance of their politicians. A vaccum is created, and the Israeli Lobby moves in to fill it. The results are a one-sided presentation of what is happening in the Middle east, and an American public that is basically ignorant of what is going on.

Or do they just make you angry. After all, they have not made me any less likely to go into central London, or use a major airport. Personally, I am more scared of the idiotic gangs that are stabbing people all over the country.

So, do the terrorists actually create terror; are you now more scared to travel etc. Or does it just make you angry that people can act like this?

I mean isn't the UK and USA at war with Iraq and Afganastan, how come it is okay for them to kill thousands of civilians every month, but when it happens in the West then suddenly it's a terrorist attack and everybody is up in arms about it. Personally I always thought a war had 2 sides, and although I don't agree with it at all I think the east are justified in their retalliation attacks on the west....what do you guys think?

Btw, as for Muslims hating the "British way of life" (eg the "slags" dancing in nightclubs):

The IRA mentioned all kinds of things in their motivation for bombing including the19thC Potato Famine. I suspect the Potato Famine was not mentioned once in the peace negotiations

Those with more sophisticated knowledge of these issues know that such peripheral matters are not really central in the terrorists wish to bomb and maim.

Do you think the guy that was on fire should have been treated for his injuries by the NHS, or left in a corner to die, as ultimately thats what he wanted. Theres a big enough waiting list without treating people like this, his actions could have killed hundreds of innocent people. I believe we need to severely punish these people as a deterrent. Serious answers only please.

Most people in the UK welcome Muslims into this country.
UK law protects all ethnic groups from discrimination.
Most people in the UK were against the war in Iraq.
The main instigator of war in Iraq (Tony Blair) has now gone (thank goodness)!
There is only one god. The Christians call him God, the Muslims call him Allah. Our God would not want us to kill each other because we listen to one of his messengers instead of another. As far as I know Mohammed didn't advocate murder.

My question to those who support terrorist attacks is, why do you want to kill people (Muslims and Christians) in your adopted country? Why, and what do you hope to achieve? What are your goals? Please give a thought out logical answer.

I am currently working on a very special assignment out here in the Middle East (no it's nothing to do with Iraq, etc, etc). It's a fantastic story and I want the world to see it on the small screen. I have checked out the BBC websites and others but still cannot find one that shows some kind of outline or format. I am sure the Beeb want to see your proposal in an accepted format. Can you point me to any website that might help?
Thankx!

Yahoo News just posted an article announcing that 32% of the top Western countries believe America the biggest threat to world stability. America is ahead of Iran, China, and North Korea. Bush has put us ahead of the "Axis of Evil"? Oh my. I knew we were bad, but not this bad.
