Can't Yahoo come up with a system for nicknames & avatars?

Question

like the one for email IDs, to prevent people from using
a nickname & avatar that is already created & in use?
How does one request them to make such a change?
I stumbled on to YA accidently...& my skills here are zilch!
What with the BB2002s & Daves floating around,
the confusion is confounding!

Yes, i read about the confusion b/w you & bb & dolly & it confounded me! It does take the spice out, doesn't it? Gosh! its made me ever so suspicious! I think thrice before answering & i think i'd refuse to believe dave s was dave s even if he presented me with his passport for id proof!!! lol

That's a good point. I've lost track of all the Dave s!! Yes there should be something that says that username is already taken, like other forums do.

Or some people should just grow up because you and I both know why this question came about because immature people feel the need to stoop to the level of confusing people purposely. Just add the real dave and BB to your contacts and you will know it is them because you will have the little blue guy next to it. I have seen the name faith one other time but on a different topic but again your little blue contact guy was not there so I knew it was not you....But anyway people should just act their age and stop stalking people and the problem would stop.

Hi Faith, it is very confusing, and so unfair. They do it deliberately and you could understand an accident, like stumbling across accidentally, like you said you did ( me too) and I could choose the name Faith too. Accident fair enough, and you would hope THEY changed the name. But this obsession with copying Dave s and bb is just ridiculous. Last night I answered bb thinking it was the real one, then read that Dolly K knew it wasnt her, I went and edited my answer then.
Its ridiculous, someone could choose babyshambles and I would be proper upset! LOL

I posted to this effect on the Suggestions board. I think it is not fair of anyone to try to impersonate anyone else - either a real world figure (someone, for a time, was on here with the ID "kateandgerrymccann") or another poster.

I haven't seen a response yet from YAT.

maybe the only way would be to use a real pic like babyshambles, but i suppose the could copy that too if they wanted.

if you create a 360 page, you can use any nickname you choose, but never play this game with your regular email account, accounts here tend to get terminated, and in that case you lose all your email info.
