McGovern Warning - Bush Plans on Iran
----*Press Release About NJ Peace Action's 49th Annual Soup Luncheon

Despite the continuing deterioration of the U.S. position in the war in Iraq, it appears that the Bush administration may be preparing for a U.S. attack on Iran, and Ray McGovern thinks that the current deployment of U.S. military ships to the Persian Gulf just off Iran’s coast are serious indicators of the administration’s intent. McGovern, a twenty-seven-year veteran of the CIA who resigned in protest over what he said were Bush Administration pressures to exaggerate the threat posed by Iraq, will be the keynote speaker at New Jersey Peace Action’s 49th annual Soup Luncheon, to be held November 11th, from 11:45am until 4:00pm at Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey. He and other intelligence agency critics have formed a group called Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, an organization dedicated to exposing what these former Intelligence professionals believe to be the mishandling of important intelligence, particularly concerning the war in Iraq.

I'm in Australia and my favourite written press is 'The Australian'. It's national, reasonably impartial and relatively humanitarian.

What one thing or more would you like to see added to a search engine? In other words what one thing would draw you to a new search engine and keep you as a visitor?

maybe it's just me, but i always thought that loosing wars required
1) constant heavy loss of casualties- I've been checking the news for some time now & have seen little or no U.S. military casualties. that & the fact that if you total the number of deaths & divide by the time we've been there, it totals out to be less than 5 a day. don't get me wrong, my heart goes out to the families & loved ones of those who've fallen, but the phrase isn't "war is a cakewalk", it's "WAR IS HELL!". meaning that there's bound to be some deaths along the way, but not nearly as many as in previous wars.
2) retreating/loss of grounds, we're still not bringing the troops home, & as far as i can tell, they're still out patrolling & helping the Iraqi forces.
i don't want to hear any political bullshit! all i want is the truth. i don't want to hear about how unjust this war is, on how bush is a warpig, i just want to know how you think we are "loosing".

I'd have to say it's because human beings are so liable to killing other human beings. Throughout the entire human history, there have always been mistrust, hatred and killing of human being by another human being.

Do you all remember the line in the movie, "Conquest of Planet of Apes"? Parapharsing - "Men could kill his brother, but he could not kill his pet." "Men are so prone to destory each other. One plain evidence is men waging war against their own kind."

Another reason would be the need for "dominiation" and the competition that is so intricately built to into human society and daily lives lived by human beings.
