I think the dude is just wanting to scare people and show that he has (some) power.
I don't know too much about it but supposedly Russia is in with N Korea... so that is pretty scary.
N Korea though, definitely WON'T nuke America, and I really doubt that they even have the ability to reach America..
There is a good chance that N Korea will attack S Korea, but they won't be able to do much, and as soon as they attempt to launch an attack, if not before, they will be taken out themselves. Probably by America.
Their leader is a crazy ******* though, so anything can happen really..
When you think about it the idea isn't that wild. From their point of view (assuming they think they are sane) why shouldn't they have nukes?
And they are certainly doing their job, everyone is paying attention to N Korea, worried, trying to figure out what to do. If they didn't have nukes what would they have? Nothing.. just the threat of being nuked by someone else.

Their delivery systems are still rudimentary, and they've only enough fissile material for a few warheads (light by modern standards). Their latest rockets could possibly reach the west coast of the continental United States - with a very light payload.
I would say their realistic range is the Japanese islands, South Korea of course... but I would not guess anywhere beyond that.
As to whether they would actually do it, that depends entirely on how insane their administration truly is. Any sort of multi-lateral economic sanctions could crack the communist party, and instability could feasibly lead to a rogue launch.
I would not think it is very likely, but who knows.

Doubt it. They know if they did, they'd be charcoal within minutes. Incinerated. China's already ticked. We'd have to defend S. Korea and Japan. Russia might cop out, or not. but there's no doubt that the generals who actually run things in N. Korea know the stakes. They just let the kid mouth off. It's not going to happen, at least not right now.
