Tonight I just heard that nuclear stuff was smuggled into the USA from Mexico by one or more of the Al Quaida terrorists and that the FBI were hard on looking for them. Why has this not been on the news? My husband says he heard it on the Michael Savage show. Instead of the media advertising just how insure Canada and USA are (borders, ports, transportations and so on) not just to the North American people but do they not realise that the damn terrorists are listening and watching the news too? I am so furious because something like this is what should be on the news and letting the people know that maybe we should as citizens start taking precautions. If our malls or ports or highways and so on are not yet safe from attacks maybe they should take care of it and feed our ears with news that should be mentioned. Any input?

We just listened to Moises Naim at American University, the author of Illicit, and at the end of the Q&A session I decided to get the last word in.

Earlier he declared he's for legalizing marijuana because of how it has so many ironic inverse effects and markets against cigarettes. Regardless of the moral argument, his book discusses the trafficking of illegal goods and how they're used to finance America's enemies of state. He also discusses how Americans are naive and need to take action to clean things up around the world.

I asked him how legalizing marijuana would not provide terrorists organizations with an avenue to expand their financial base. He basically dodged the question when responding and stated the terrorism isn't an expensive venture (although his prior focus was on the massive funding underground cells get from trafficking of illegal goods).

I've been asking around what people thought, and some said I seemed confident and others said it was odd. What's up here?

We seem to be just pussy footing around, tied up with both hands behind our back...... Why are we waiting for Iran to finish developing their nuclear program, a few dirty bombs will really mess up the USA..... This cannot be allowed to happen.. But, little do people know, we do not secure our homeland enough.... We only check 6% of all the containers coming to the ports in America. The other thing is these terrorists are very patient.... methodical and must be wiped off the face of the earth before its too late.... Don't u think that there's too many bad things going on in this world? lol...yea i know...pretty dumb question. But i think that there's too much going on. Especially for teenagers and children. Now i am a teenager but...I'm startign to just relize that theres so much things to discover in life. So many bad thing sin life but so many good things too. Whenever i hear the news on the news channel...its like...OMFG. I can't belive that...thsi is so shocking lol. I feel like i have to save the world sometimes from bad things. How many have noticed that gas prices, which have soared above $3.00 all year, have taken a very convenient (and steep) downturn right before the November elections, when the Republicans are on the verge of losing their majority in Congress? Are Bush's oil company friends trying to make the economy look good by lowering gas prices for a few months until the elections are over, in hope that it will make voters feel better about the GOP incumbents?
