Some of the surface in my yard is uneven. What is the best way to make sure the stones are not wobbly or that they do not crack or break over time?

My plants roots are drowning and rotting away because I have clay soil further down below the flower beds, i dug out about 15cms of the soil, removed the clay lumps and mixed the soil with compost through a garden seive to remove rocks.

In heavy rain (which we seem to be palgued with recently) it fills with water and has killed off a lot of my plants.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Something appears to be eating it but I cannot find any small caterpillars in the bush. The plant is normally outside during the day and inside at night........ with a healthy supply of slug pellets down, it's not slugs or snails!

Is it okay to put this stuff in my compost bin? A neighbor told me no I shouldn't but isn't that what it's doing in the compost bin anyway is molding? I'm not using any compost medium, just grass clippings and fruit veggie trash. Won't the heat created by the compost kill anything that is too bad?

I'm looking to plant grass in a small patch of land near my condo's deck. It is currently a lot of gravel. I would like to remove some of the gravel, but also just put down new topsoil. How many bags will I need for my 62 square foot piece of land?

I mean parks with big trees that create shading and provide nice breeze.

Since it takes so long for trees to grow, if cities build parks now, we will not be able to fully enjoy them in this life time it seems.

Sure we get the grass, but i don't think the palm trees and trees wil be mature enough to give us that nice feeling.

I live in MA, but my grass is getting burned up in the back, not so badly in the front...if it doesn't rain for a week, how long should I water each section of lawn at a time? I water at night or early in the morning to avoid the heat of the sun wasting my efforts. Thank you

I am planning on growing grass in front of my deck near the condo I own. The ground currently is mostly gravel. Underneath the gravel is a plastic sheet (I believe the stuff under is clay) I've dug the very top layer of gravel off. If I were to purchace top soil, and left the plastic sheet underneath, would the grass grow and survive?

I work many hours during the week and don't have the time to give to a high maintenance yard and especially not to a design it yourself flowerbed. Are there any companies that you would recommend where I can purchase a ready designed flowerbed pattern (as in insert plant five here) for a half-way decent price? What other recommendations do you have?

I live in western Tennessee. Some people around here plant flower seeds in their flower beds in the fall that bloom in the early spring. The winters here are fairly mild, but we do get a few spells in the winter with below freezing temperatures. Can anyone suggest a few types of flowers that would do well planting under these conditions?

They are only around in late July-August and make huge webs at night. The spiders themselves are nickel sized and brown/black mixed.
