Elimination the mole's food source...grubs...should do the trick for the long term. Spread a quality grub control on your lawn. "The idea is to kill the grubs to make your yard less like a mole fast food drive through."

Grub control IS the solution for long-term control.
In the meantime, short term solutions may help. some people pour cat litter or human hair clippings into molehills & refill them until signs of the mole have disappeared.

There are a whole range of deterrents people put down the mole run such as: bits of Juicy Fruit chewing gum, Garlic, Chilli powder, & Mothballs. I like the idea that the whirlygigs's thumping may be able to chase them away.

Many articles say using Castor oil is effective. Mix up a spray of 3 parts castor oil to 1 part dish soap; use 4 tablespoons of this concoction in a gallon of water, and soak the tunnels and the entrances.

Good luck! Hope this helps.

I have tried all of the over the counter methods for getting rid of moles. I have found the best way to get rid of moles and gophers is a road flare.

Try to find the main passage the mole uses by digging where it has surfaced. Once you locate a passage, light the flare, shove it in the hole and bury it. The smoke from the flare is toxic to the moles lungs and will usually kill it in a few minutes.

As to keeping them away. Good luck. You may be able to get rid of them for a while, but they will always come back. It is part of having a yard and/or garden.

Good Luck!!!

Are we talking about moles in the ground or moles on the skin?

Skin mole problems should be discussed with a Dermatologist.

Moles in the earth/dirt/ground should be dealt with by getting rid of the grubs in the soil. You can use a product called : Milky Spore disease/Bacillus popilliae. Moles eat grubs and that is why they tunnel into your grassy areas. Check with your County agent, check with the larger Nurseries and plant stores about the Milky spore diseas product.

treat the lawn for grubs - then use cat poo. they are a natural predator of moles. if you don't have a cat ask a co-worker to bring poo from their liter box and drop some down into each hole you can find. be sure to explain to said co-worker why you want the cat's waste!

i am totally serious and i hope this helps :)

First spread out insecticide like diasion to kill bug and grubs. Then put chewed bubble gum down the mole holes. The bubble gum will gum up the moles insides and kill them.
