Bush or Pole doesn't matter. Stringless is a plus but not a must. One that does well freezing and canning is vitally important. What is your experience?

I have 10 Buddleia davidii in my yard, a house I recently moved into. I read that you should prune them in March, obviously I missed that, but they are huge already and I am afraid they will grow out of control if I do not prune them, however they have already started to grow leaves. Have I missed my opportunity to prune?

The flower bed is just filled up with dirt, weeds, and little pcs of rock. First I need to clean it out I guess but do I use the dirt that's already in there or do put soil down? If you want to know, I live in Charlotte, NC (Zone 7). I want to plant perennial flowers. I'm new to gardening and want to know how prepare the flower bed, what type of soil I need (if necessary) and any tips on types of flowers to plant. Thanks alot!

Every year I plant bulbs and every year the squirrels get fat off of them. I'm planting them in a flowerbed under my front window and it is seperate from the rest of the yard. What can I do to protect my bulbs? They always start digging them up this time of year. Do you think if I feed them they would leave my flowerbed alone??

The problem is all the water splashes out. Someone told me to get a "splitter" and attach a fountain head to one end and use the other end to run the hose for the waterfall. Does this make sense? Where would I find a splitter and how would I attach it?

Location is in extreme Western Maryland (near PA & WV). I would like to plant some bushes next to the house, to obscure various vents. This is a second home and will not receive regular landscaping care. Additionally, the area is frequented by wildlife, so it has to be deer and bear (!) resistant. Any ideas on which shrubs I should plant?

We had a severe frost and small snow after our record breaking 80's in early spring. All of the leaves that were budding out on some of my trees have turned black and died. Will they bud out and get leaves again this year???

we moved into our house and discovered that the dirt is mostly rock- I cannot plant anything - on top of this our grass is patchy and gross and our yard is covered in dandelions.

This summer we will be removing all of the rocky soil from our yard and putting in good fill dirt. We are then going to reseed the lawn.
I would like to know what kind of grass seed I should look for-
what will give me a nice green and lush yard, as well as deter any dandelion or other obnoxious weeds from growing - it does not have to prevent them 100 % but as much help squeezing them out as I can get would be great. I have blueberry bushes and an apple tree in my yard so I dont want to have to use chemicals to keep the weeds out or keep the grass healthy. What grass seed should I be looking for??
