Bush or Pole doesn't matter. Stringless is a plus but not a must. One that does well freezing and canning is vitally important. What is your experience?

Some people swear by Half Runners, but I prefer to find better uses for my time than spending an hour taking strings off a quart of beans. I like Blue Lakes. They are stringless and tend to stay crisp.

I have settled with Fortex a Filet bean and they were perfect for me. Filets should be picked when less than 1/8" thick, regardless of length, though most will be 4-6" long.
I don't freeze them but I do can them pickled and plain. They remain crisp and I like their flavour.

I'm assuming that you have canned and know that blanching will help irregardless of strain. You could also french cut or diagonal cut after blanching and then use seal- a -meal.Cook in the pouch, they should be fine.I am not a gourmet of any certain strain but do can alot and make my own jams and wines and canned veggies and fruits.
