It starts somewhere near rated rpm and dies. brushes? Burnt armeture? How do I tell which? It is clean not all that old and originally from a 1" belt sander. Anybody know a good website that can teach me about tool motor diagnosis and repair? It's a very nice little motor and I want to fix it.

I live in Australia so I need something which is available here - not overseas. I know there are professionals that do it for you but as I am going to sell my house, I want to cut the cost and DIY it.

For the life of me I can't figure out how to turn on the power shower. It doesn't have a button or a pull string or a fuse anywhere. Does anyone else have one of these?

Going to be applying stain to my fence which is going to change the color of it dramatically. My wife thinks we should also paint the sides facing our neighbors to the left, right and back of us... so both sides match.
I'm going to ask the neighbors to our right if we can do this. We've known them for years, used to rent from them (we wound up buying the house next door to them). I'm only asking them because the side of our fence facing them is the only "opposite" side that can be seen from the street. The sides facing the other two neighbors, we've never seen. For all we know they may have painted/stained those sides.
I'm of the mind that they can do whatever they want with those sides, even the neighbor who I plan on asking. My wife's big worry is sides not matching!

I have one of those white microwave stands you get at an appliance store, or in a mall. I am wondering " what kind of paint do they use at the factory?" or is there a coating like laquer put ontop of paint?

Thanks you all in advance

installing a free standing range in 960 sq ft house kitty corner from box in basement currently there are built ins and I hate them (70's) their outlets are 5 foot from rear of range and are separate. do I need new wiring or can electrician merge lines and put them where I need em or do I need all new? How much for ball park figure would you guess to cost labor and parts? the wire would run from box to range about 65 ft of wire > any ideas> I will put hole in floor myself and it is unfinished basement. he will already be there replacing box and connecting wireing as previous owners did some crazy things to it.

are plastered with paint over them. I have been trying to cover the cracks and holes with joint compound but it is a neverending process and it still looks horrible. After priming the surface, I was thinking about mixing some joint compound with some paint of different colors and putting on my own kind of texture with a roller. Do you think this will work? If so, what kind of roller should I use? I already have some Well-Cote rollers of some different styles. Would they work? Any and all advice would be helpful. Thank you and have a great weekend!

The water heater is 10+ yrs. old, had a new thermal cupple installed about 4 years ago. About 2 weeks ago, began getting air in the hot water line only. No big deal, but now I have no hot water at all. I have a well and this is not happening in the main house, only in the cabin, which runs off the same well, but different water heater. Any ideas on what it could be? Can I fix it myself or do I need a plumber?

I once saw in a magazine that you can add plumbing without cutting into the slab. Yet I have not been able to find anything else on it. It was in a contractors magazine. If anyone knows anything please let me know.
