Bought a Poulan lawn mower in April filled it with oil and started mowing, and burnt out the engine, it has a 1 year warranty. Repair shop said they won`t replace or repair under warranty, plus we owe them for the service.

I've seen a few places online (ebay and a couple other stores) and even found out that Xacto makes a jeweler's saw, but I've checked out local hardware and arts stores with no luck. I'd prefer to find one locally rather than order it online, but I'm wondering if there's any other choice.

I want to paint my living/dining room. I have two couches - one is cream and one is chocolate brown. My wood furniture is dark brown. My area rug is a checkerboard of cream/terra cotta/navy/dark brown/denim blue.
I have a large window at one end with cream coloured drapes.
What do you guys think for a paint colour? I am not afraid of using colour and I am not rreally crazy about just using white or beige.

I have a modest home in Ohio with gas heat. The windows aren't in terrible shape by I do know that they can be drafty. I don't have the money to replace the windows. I know drapes would help but they too are expensive. What are some other ideas for the financially strapped?

I am removing the wall paper in the bathroom. There are 2 layers of wall paper.I have used the vineger and hot water method and also the DIF wallpaper stripper.I scored the paper first. Both products work equally well.My problem is only one layer is coming off at a time. Is there any way I can get both layers to come off at the same time?I don't want to get a steamer. It is a small bathroom.I just wanted to speed up the process. Thanks !!!!!

I painted my bedroom this weekend and when I lifted the plastic from the rug I saw many spots of paint, but they're all dried. I purchased some Goof Off but it can't be safely used on carpets. Scrubbing isn't very effective but I'm desperate! Thanks for any help!

Hello.
I would like to know if you were to upgrade your bathroom and have limited $$$ to spend, would you rather upgrade the countertop, shower wall and floor to marble OR to a frameless shower door?

Thanks!

Some people say leave it as it is, others say cut it back to 6-8 inches? Does the same apply for clematis? What about peonies?? Thanks!

We have thousands that come inside this time of year . They mostly go to our bedroom . We have tried some flying insect spray but that did not work. We are now using a shop vac. I am not exaggerating about the thousands . We have lived here three years and every year we go through this . Does anyone know if there could be a health issue with this ?

Hi, I'm trying to put together my own lawn mower for pulling behind my 35hp old tractor. I'm from India and nobody makes powered tow-able mowers here. I have a 12hp diesel engine from an old pump which I can mount onto a deck. My family's property has very tall grass but also has hidden rocks. I wanted to know,
1. what's the best way to make sure that the blade or crankshaft do not get damaged when the blade hits a rock?
2. I'll import 20"+ blades, what are the best mulching and regular cutting blades you recommend?
3. How do you adjust cutting height? In some areas we want it tall, at others a close cut. Is this done at the crankshaft spindle, or
4. What's a recommended cutting RPM? I'll need this to decide if I have to gear or pulley down the speed from engine RPM or take a direct drive.

I have someone spray my house every 3 months. They were not doing a good job spraying everywhere so I cancelled the service in August. A week ago I saw some bugs and immediately called to have my house sprayed. The person asked what kind of bugs I have. I said waterbugs maybe roaches, I don't know the difference. He pointed out a waterbug and said roaches, (German/food roaches) are different. He said if I have German roaches they are harder to kill, and look different. He started spraying this poison that is supposed to bring them out and kill them. He sprayed it all over my kitchen and only in one area (by the dishwasher) were there any. Anyway, only about 4 came out, which made me very upset (I have a dirty neighbor, and I think their bugs migrate). Anyway, if 4 came out, is this a sign of a major infestation. He said it could become major in 28 days, and said he'd come back in December to bring me new bait traps, these ones have been here for 18 months.
