Bought a Poulan lawn mower in April filled it with oil and started mowing, and burnt out the engine, it has a 1 year warranty. Repair shop said they won`t replace or repair under warranty, plus we owe them for the service.

You should check the oil level every time you start the mower.

The repair shop isn't trying to "screw" you. The oil may not have burned out, but if you had a leak, it could have leaked out.

Running a lawnmower without oil will destroy it in about 3-5 minutes, less if it's really hot.

Chalk it up as a life lesson, and read and study the owner's manual more carefully the next time.

Your fault not theirs. You have to check the oil in any engine on a regular basis. I check my lawn mower oil every time I mow and change it out at the end of every season. It's been running strong for 7 years.

Next time RTFM.

take the mower and let them sue you. the warranty should have covered oil leaks.
