I know that there needs to be a male and female tree for them to produce fruit, but does anyone know if the climate in California permits it? Thank you!
PS. I live in San Rafael...

It is said to be harbored in hard rocks such as granite. Is there any danger in granite counter tops inside a home? I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but it seemed worth asking.

I have a 3 month baby in the house, so I'm a little crazy about the germs right now! I wonder if Im cross contiminating and if Im actually killing the germs. Are sponges bad to use? I think all they do is hold bacteria! and if you spray cleaner on the counter directly then wipe away with a cloth is that good enough for the kitchen? How do you make bleach water (how much water and bleach). What other things do you find properly kills the germs in a house?

Thanx

I recently purchased a mobile home. Few of the windows work properly and based on a somewhat good eye i can tell it is because the home has settled over the past nine years since it was installed. Any ideas or suggestions on how to alleviate this problem would help. I know i need some hefty hydraulic jacks. shims of some sort and make shift water level to make sure everything ends up at the same level. This is pretty much all i know. I have some experience with homes but not mobile homes. I am guessing it is pretty much the same. Should i use pressure treated shims or cedar or what? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank You.

I'm buying a new vacum and I want consumer feedback from other persons. I have been to the retailers, viewed sites and read up on the material. The one thing I have not done is talked to others, this is the reason for this question. I currently own a Hoover-bag type.

Live in zone 4, and if I dug them all up, I could fill up 3 five gallon pails or so. They did so good!
I have a vaccuum sealer, should I use this and freeze them? Whole or chopped?
What about putting them in the basement? What temperture is best? Single layer, or put something in between? I really don't want my basement smelling too onion-ey!
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

From what I've read so far, vacuum-packing prolongs the shelf-life of food. Is this type of storage applicable to garlic? Why?

Its my son's favorite shirt. The other day he cut his hand, and got blood all over it. I immediatly sprayed it with stain remover, and it all came out except for one area that I just didnt see at the time. The shirt has already been washed once. Is it to late to get the stain out?

(The shirt is light blue, if that makes a difference)

My neighbour was complaining about trees in our back yard leaving a mess in his yard. He asked us if it was ok if if he cut them back a bit so they wouldnt leave mess on his side. We said that was fine.
He has now cut all the branches off (they are fairly large trees and we only thought he was trimming a few branches) and has left us with no shade in our yard, and also no privacy from neighbours that are higher up than us.
He has left all the cuttings in our back yard.
Do you think he should pay to remove ALL of them??

I've tried bug sprays, bombs, fogs, nothing seems to kill them.I called the pest control guy and he just about laughed in my face, then told me $4500 for a complete fumigation job.Out of the question, too much money.Has anyone any suggestions besides burning down the place??
