Crepe myrtle seeds are pretty easy to start. It would be best to start them in January or February indoors. Find a small pot and fill with composted soil or a good planting mix. Just place the seed directly on the moist soil and spray it with some water to get the seed wet. Place inside a baggie and put it in a bright window. Check it often to maintain moisture. When all danger of freeze is over then you can transplant outside in a sunny location.
Good Luck

you can start crape mrytle seeds in a small pot and watch them grow then in the spring plant them outdoors and hope that they will survive just keep them watered crapes in texas grow like weeds and landscapers in texas always joke about them as being a weed if your seeds dont survive then get a small crape to replace them and also remember that when the seed do grow and flower it doesnt mean it will be the color from the parents stock

Call a local nursery for that info. I bought two young Crepe Myrtle trees last spring & they blossomed that summer. I also planted two Crepe Myrtle bushes this summer & they have blossomed already.

Think about it
Seeds are a pain and take YEARS to grow.
Go to your local nursery (not Home Depot or Lowes)
and let them suggest a disease resistant variety for your area, then plant it.
Tell your friends it grew faster than you ever expected.
Now go drink a beer and relax.
