Some parts of the circuit function (outlets, lights etc( but then a whole other side of the same circuit doesn't function. There are no GFCI's on the circuit and all the ones in the house work properly. I am wondering if a regular light switch or outlet can suddenly stop working. But since the circuit is a parallel circuit why would this matter? I am a contractor and I have seen this problem twice now in the last month. Really weird. Any thoughts?

I have it on the kitchen window sill. It was doing very well there midsummer. It was sending out long shoots and looked very green and happy. Now it just will not stop developing dry and dead ends. Dirt is moist, no one appears to be touching it. I remove dead stems with scissors. I can't think what might have changed. I hate to watch it dwindle away.

We have a well that produces good water, but at different times of the year, the water becomes cloudy, brown, etc. The well is nowhere near the septic tank, of course, so any filtering system that contains a backflush process is out of the question...nowhere for the waste water to go.

The system has a pressure pump (set to 55 PSI) and a large accumulator tank. From there, the 2" pipe goes to irrigation and to the house. I know I'll have to re-plumb most of that to separate the outside from the house water. What kind of filter do I need? There are only 2 of us, so our use isn't huge. I just want to keep the discoloration and scale down. This is Oregon and the water is fairly good. We will continue to use either Brita or a filter for the drinking water. There seems to be a very wide range of products from $10 to well over $1000. I just want to find something that works. Not sure if I need to worry about UV??? Thanks

Where the hell is it coming from? I have bad allergies, so last week I vacuumed, cleared out all the clutter and dusted damn near everything. I replaced the air filter on my AC system. And now, just a week later, there's already a layer of dust on my shelves and I still have allergies in here. My fan isn't very powerful, is that why? I just want to know- where is it coming from and how do I get rid of it or keep it from accumulating? Thanks.

I know for a fact you can put 3/4 hardwood on slab with proper sub-flooring and ram setting but if I use this approach over asbestos tile will the ramset break apart the tile and put me at danger of being poisioned ?

This aggravating thing! I am selling my house, and although this lock never worked when I bought the house, the inspector for the new buyer says it has to be fixed.

Simple right? It appears that the receiving part is too high for the lock thingy to engage. I removed the receiving end that has a rectangle opening, but how to know where exactly to mount it?

I tried a little higher, a little lower. There must be a trick. I can't see or mark exactly where to mount it, since it's hidden when the door is closed. You can't see the lock at all.

Could it be the 'hook' part itself that is not staying in the rectangle receptacle? How to know?

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

HI there, I can use your tips on how you get your house ready for winter, I live in rainy OR where it is just about to turn from over 100 degrees to rain all winter, please tell me what I might need to do . I know I need to clean out gutters and is this true:
___ Close foundation vents. If you have opened your foundation vents for the summer to allow accumulated moisture to escape, now's the time to close them up again.

I recently rennovated my home which was well deserved. I ordered a skip to help with the clearance, the skip was slightly over its level and when the lorry driver came to collect it, he did give of but took it away. May I say i had to torture them by phone to come and collect it and the only way i got it removed was to order another one. When the 2nd one was delivered i found almost on a daily basis people were dumping their household rubbish into it as well as rubble at night and now after torturing the company again to have it removed they have refused, saying its over its level and its my responsibility. I had warned the company previously that this was happening but to no avail. Anyone any advice as the skip is still sitting outside my home and has been for almost 2-3 months.

it's a small room, maybe 12 x 12, with a French door (to a little sunroom), the stairs to the second floor, and 2 entrances. Ten feet may seem like no big deal, but they're a challenge. How can I decorate the top 2/3 of this room? It's bright yellow with a crystal chandelier......at the entranceway, there are 2 round columns also 10 feet high, any suggestions to warm things up? I have hardwood floors...thanks!

I was given a 3/4 gallon of red paint. Latex, satin finish. Not fire engine red, but not far from it. I would like to make it very dark. I am not painting a room in my house, but furniture on my porch. It doesn't have to hide or "cover" much. I've tried working ideas from the color wheel, but I cannot remember the color wheel. I tried deepening a darker red that had alot of pink tones in it, and added a 1/2 cup of black, ended up with purple. The paint was free, no big loss but I'd like to get it close this time. It is red, with no obvious hints of other colors. And I would like it to be the tone of "primitive red." Or "rustic red" Thanks

My central heating works great apart from one radiator. It needs bleeding as the bottom is warm but the top is cold. I cannot turn the bleed valve on it. i tried to use a pair of pliers to get a better grip of it but all this did was erode the metal of the valve. i am turning it the right way as i have bled other radiators in my house without a problem.i have used one of those key things to try to turn it but because i have forced the valve with pliers the key just turns without turning the valve. Please help as my bedroom is getting colder! Thanku everyone in advance.
