Yep, this happens all the time where I work. In the office, we keep a fly swat.. and as soon as I get it down off the shelf.. the flies disappear!! LOL it's like they know what you are doing.. so annoying!! hehehe

are you saying something on you draws the flies? Do you wash your linens frequently? Sometimes gnats are drawn to hairspray. If they are in your house maybe a Raid fogger will rid you of them, and make sure your screens are tight and without holes or openings, and that you have a screen on your doors as well. No, I don't think the flies are afraid of the fly swatter and they fly away.

Take some zip lock bags, fill half way with water. Attach the bags to the top rail outside all door ways and open windows without screens. The flys will not come in.
