I have some white wooden blinds, and the slats are getting a bit grubby even though I dust them. They look like the could all do with a little wash. It would take ages to do each slat by hand and wondered, if I should take them down and wash them gently in the bath , with some mild soap ?

What d'ya think? Shall I?

In my living room, we have beige walls, a beige sofa, and beige carpet. Unfortunately, there's a stone fireplace, so we had to keep the "earthy" colors. I have several pictures, and they all have the beige color in them, but for the most part they are brightly colored. Can I get away with a print on curtains, or is it better to have solid color curtains, and what color?

I have been informed that I can not have them replaced by a standard electrician and I know that I can not cover them with a radiator cover...

The other problem I have is that they have no timer and little in the way of a thermostat...they are either on or off and only work at certain times of the day....not much good in the middle of winter...

Any Ideas?

I have 2 broken ceramic tiles, 10". The other tiles are okay. The tiles are set on cement board, with regular tile cement. What is the best way to remove them so they can be replaced?

It is not in the shower, just a bathroom wall, and I already have the cement board up. Will Gravity make the tile fall off the mortar?

Obviously don't have a clue what I'm doing with electrics. I've tried using a bulb that I know works but it doesn't work in this socket. I've read something about transformers. Would that be the problem and how do I go about replacing one?

Well, there's a pretty darn big bug (it must be over an inch long. I think it might be a cricket or grasshopper, but I'm not sure) in front of my closet, and I'm having problems getting over my squemishness. I know I should just take a broom and dustpan, sweep it up and throw it away, but whenever I start I feel like I'm going to throw up, and I can't get anyone else to get it for me. Help?

As opposed to 12-2 with only black and white (plus a ground)... This is only was guess. What does the red wire do? I noticed in a professionally wired switched light in my house the red from the light was wired into the switch and the black was just capped. If I am doing a shed wiring project (maybe to power a band saw in the future) do I need to mess with the red wire (12-3 - if that is correct?)??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried sticky traps, enclosed traps (it just ate the peanut butter and didn't set the trap off), and am at my wits end. I love animals, but not ones that poop all over the kitchen. Any personal experience in this matter would be most helpful! This is one smart mousie!
