I have a lot of grass growing in my garden and am having a hard time getting rid of it. Is there a safe herbicide I can put on that will kill the grass but not harm the other plants?

Ok so the garage is one of those not closed off ones ( where only two sides have walls which are part of the house, in other words the outside of the house) only two sides are closed the other two are not. What I'm planning to do is closing off the WHOLE thing and making it my study/work room.
I was wondering if there are sites that help you on doing this, like blue prints ideas, material needed and how go on about using it, etc etc.
Thanks help is appreciated it, oh and btw i usually do my research by searching around the web and such but i have no idea what to yahoo search, i dont get the answers at all to what im looking for..thanks in advance

My waiting room is quite warm, and is made worse by multiple indoor floodligts.

Are there any alternative type lights or bulbs that can be used that will give light but not increase heat at the same time?

I have this rose bush that's not quite a bush. It's more like a single thorny stalk with one pink rose. Is this the remnant of what once was a bush? I don't know if there's much hope for this thing to be more than just a sucker-like growth. I don't want to destroy it, but I'd like to relocate it to another part of my property and replace it with a new fuller bush from the nursery. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I just bought a really nice hoodie and I want to make sure it lasts. How do I keep it soft and not all pilly on the inside? Should I wash it right now or wear it a few times first? What settings should I wash on? Or dry on?

This was labor only and does not include the price of the new faucet. I realize that this may be an easy job so I know that I could've done it myself. However, what's done is done. Thanks!

I stained my cedar porch last summer, and it is wearing already (actually started wearing like 6 months after). We have no porch covering so rain, sun, and weather hit it everyday. AND, the most wearing is where the most foot traffic is (obviously).

Did I put it on badly... should I have put on some sort of protectant or urethane?

AND... how should i correct... Do i need to sand and redo the areas, or sand and redo entire porch. If I do redo it, any tips (e.g., stain and urethane?)

Help..

Recently bought home... grass was awful. Huge bare area and filled with weeds throughout. This spring, I just filled in most bare areas with grass seed, and it took pretty well. There are still some barespots and weeds have been coming in pretty hefty in bare spots and everywhere else.

I was going to use Scotts Turf Builder Plus 2 Weed Killer now to kill weeds. Should I use that - is that the best next step?

OR... should I keep pulling weeds and planting grass seed? Because I know if I use the Scotts with weed killer, I can't plant grass seed for about 4-6 weeks.

Ultimately, what should I do next?

Does anyone know if this it is acceptable in the state of Texas (Houston to be specific) or as part of the UPC Plumbing code to not have overflow prevention at bathroom vanity sinks? Or, does anyone know where i can find the part of the codebook to reference this question.
My bath vanity sinks do not have an overflow prevention. If i turn on the faucet and plug the drain, it will overflow. The Powder room pedestal sink has 3 small homes on the inside of the sink bowl on the fornt lip where if the water level reaches, it will drain out the sink drain. The Master bath and others with a vanity cultured marble cabinet top sink do not have these. I am trying to figure out if this is acceptable, I have googled everything i can think of. TIA.

I'm looking in the $500-$700 price range. Preferably stainless steel with Rotisserrie. It will be used often for a family of four. I have the Consumer Reports reviews but when I do a search for some of the grills they recommend, the user reveiws aren't the greatest. Any suggestions?

I'm currently making a stool (no jokes please) and I've tried sitting on it for about half an hour and my bum went numb.

On some chairs I've noticed an indentation pattern that is broadly speaking - bum shaped. What is the best indentation pattern I can use to stop my stool giving me a numb bum?

Any direction to web sites that deal with that area of carpentry would be welcome. Also what is the correct name for an 'indentation pattern' as I've chosen to call it?

Recently bought a new lawnmower. Because of a wrist problem and inability to get anyone to take it out of the car it was left in the car's back seat, on its side because that was how it fit, for several days.

My son finally decided to get ambitious today. He came in and said the mower is covered in oil. Before we go any farther with this -- do we have a problem, Houston?

I don't want to call a plumber - too expenisve.

It hasn't overflowed but keeps making noises and runs constantly. I'm wasting water but my bill won't go up (fixed water rate).

Should I just leave it alone because it isn't causing any problems?

I would like it fixed if possible and cheaply but it isn't a dire need. Could the running lead to more but serious problems?
