I know it has already been asked, but what's the best find you have come across at a garage sale? It could be something really cool, or something that turned out to be worth alot. it doesn't matter. I'm headed out this weekend to a few for the first time, and was just lookin to see what kind of deals I could find! Thanks!

I am digging 2 clothes line poles 2 1/2 feet deep and 2 feet wide.. The hole is deep because I dont want the poles to fall over after all this work. I plan to mix it in a wheel barrel and scoop it in with a shovel and am not sure how thick to make the concrete.
1. cake mix thick
2. cookie dough thick
3. drop bisquit thick
Any suggestions to make this easier will be appreciated.

I am peeling layers of paint off drywall and am at the cardboard/paper level. Can I paint directly on this? Do I need to redrywall? Do I need to seal it somehow before painting on it? How do I make it look level when it's all paper looking? Any suggestions?

I am particularly interested in prarie dropseed and feather reed grasses. I live in easterm KS and love the way the grasses sway in the breeze, and prairie dropseed sounds like a great fall accent. Ideas anyone?

I have an electric stove that is not used in the winter. It is in a cabin and when I started to use it now- the smell is just awful. You cannot even stay in there until you turn it off and open the doors. It is from mouse urine and possibly dead ones in the insulation. Is there any way to rid the smell from the oven?. I have left it on for 4 hours at a time thinking it would burn off. But is just gets worse. I am thinking the stove is ruined.

The cup is small and fits perfectly in the sink disposal hole. There is no way to grab an edge with tongs or pliers.

I have a boat dock. about 14 X 26. It's against my seawall, in a tidal, hurricane prone area of FLA> I have piles on the outside. Two of which are very tall. I have a slide mooring system that allows my 42 ft powercat yacht to float up and down with tides. I am concerned that the piles could give way from the mud floor and riip the whole thing away in a good storm. Tidal surge wont be a problem as I have the ability to go about 10-15 ft above normal. I think I need to add dolphins to the existing piles. I see them installed around my neighborhood. Kinda like three shorter piles in a triangle, or pyramid shape attached to the main pile. I think it can be done with water pressure? Any thoughts? Thanx.

i have four tomato plants each in a small plant pot. i was planning on repotting them today into some bigger tubs but i have noticed that in the soil of one of my plants, there is a small hole and every now and again i see a bee, not a wasp or a bumble bee, go into the little burrow. i'm worried that if i try to repot the plant i will annoy it and it will sting me. what should i do?????

We have had water damage twice(dishwasher---ice maker supply) in the last 3 years, bad luck each time. We have had laminate down both and it has buckled the laminate pretty good. We thought we had decided to lay tile in the kitchen, and hardwood throughout the rest of the house, but now we are conisdering going with the engineered hardwood everywhere. Our concern is possible water damage in the future. I know it is a freak thing, but we really don't want to go through this again. The hardwood would be cheaper than the tile because of installation prices, and we would like the look a lot better. Please let me know any suggestions. I have heard that the hardwood will not buckle as much and sometimes if you catch it in time it will dry out, or at worst you can refinish. Is that true?

i have a brand new house in middle of corn fields. last winter, mice squeezed under the rubber strip on bottom of the garage door. i adjusted the door down, but i think they can still get in. I found mouse droppings under the hood of my Supra that gets driven about 500 miles per year, and also in the air box. if i can't seal out mouse completely out of the garage, what can i do to keep them away from my car?

I grow veggies in my backyard. When I originally dug the garden, the soil was mostly clay. I added a lot of topsoil to it and grew a summer's worth of veggies.

The next summer (this summer) the soil was rock hard. I ripped my hands up trying to break up the large chunks of hard topsoil/clay. I don't want to go through that again next year.

At the end of this summer, is there something I can add to the soil to prevent it from hardening? It has to be safe to grow veggies in.

Thanks in advance.

We've had a lot of rain recently and the extra water has flooded the exhuast pipe from my dryer. Now my dryer won't run, becuase it doesn't have good air flow. My dryer is under warranty but I'm not sure if the dryer manufacturer fixes stuff like this. Who would I call? Can I do this myself?

Is there a way to fix this so that the kids can open the freezer after it has been recently shut? I can barely open it for the first few minutes.
