The stuff in buckets is hard and coarse as sand. I avoid that. But other house brands in boxes seem as good to me.

For some things, generics or other very cheap brands are great and cost effective. Cleaning supplies are not one of those things. With cheaper brands, you tend to have to use more and still have less effectiveness. The mid-priced brands like Wisk or Surf usually work pretty well, in my experience and I usually buy them. I do like Tide though and if it is on sale, then it's my first choice.
My little sister once did a project in high school comparing the effectiveness of laundry detergents. They concluded that Tide worked the best and the worst was Arm & Hammer (worse than generics even).

I'm a faithful Tide user from way back, but I hear that some of the cheaper detergents, such as Purex, work just as well.

I wouldn't use the store brands, but the cheaper name brands like Surf, All, Gain are all about the same. I think it depends more on your water, the way you sort your clothes, and pre-treatment of stains, than the detergent itself, as to how clean your clothes come out of the laundry.

Cheaper detergents work just as well. I got two big bottles of Walgreens brand detergent buy one get one free. It smells and works better than some of the name brand stuff I've tried.

I wouldn't use the "sand" in the buckets, either. I have had no problem with Surf/All or Gain compared to Tide-- seem to get my skivvies clean just as well.

After what the Walmart dishwasher soap did to my glasses, I am sticking with Tide! Sometimes cheaper things are not worth it all!

each and every once in an outstanding even as i will have adequate money to purchase Tide. that's my well-known yet because of expenditures i exploit the affordable stuff. i think that Tide is a better product in evaluation to various of the different optimum manufacturers.....OMG....replaced into that a promo or what?

I ues the liquid Kirkland brand from Costco, it works great
