We do live in a rural area, we each have 200 ft of frontage and all our lots are at least 5 acres. So when my neighbor started putting up a fence around their front yard I didn't think much of it. They started with round posts and now they are putting up T posts! I can't believe it. We have NICE homes. The home my neighbor lives in is older and is probably a $200,000- home. The house right next to her is newer and is probably about a $500,000- home as is mine. They certainly aren't mansions but t posts? I run a boarding stable from my home. I am very cautious and make certain things are kept very nice. I don't do anything (not even to the common fence) without first discussing it with my neighbors and then I do everything I can to make things nice for all of us. Granted, I have more at stake than anyone else. Would you be upset too? I wasn't upset when I thought she was putting up a nice wooden three rail fence or something similar.

I am container gardening in zone 7. I planted 3 calla lily bulbs, and only one is producing. Same with one of the cannas--lots of roots, but after many weeks, that's it. The ones that made it are flourishing. Should I dig up the others and store them until next year, wait until the end of the season, or what?

I expect this has been asked before but my garden is full of them. All the bulbs have been eaten, all the leaves on the plants have holes in them, I crunch over them down the path - the snails. At night I could not believe it the lawn is a sea of slugs. I cannot put pellets down because I have a dog and am worried she will eat them.

I have had a hedgehog staying in the dog kennel recently and the results have been slightly better but over the week-end he/she has moved next door and I really could cry there seems to have been an almost dramatic mass move into my garden. I need a solution - fast, please can anyone help?

My washer is in the back of the house, there are toilets in the middle and front part of the house. When the water is draining the wash, both toilet water will bubble then drain. Any idea what could be causing this. I had a plumber run a smake from the front toilet to the street about a month ago. Thanks

The stovetop works ok but only the broiler setting works in the oven. Therefore I am unable to bake things. We have told him this from the first day we moved in and always promises to have it fixed, but more than a year later he still has not gotten it fixed. Is he required by law to have a working oven?

The chairs are very comfortable and are in great shape. (This is the first time they have really been used) I do not want to cover them with a slipcover, But we have recently bought a used couch from someone my mom knows ($50) it is in great shape but is kind of dirty ( it is beige) I was wondering what color slipcover I should get for the couch?
apple red? or chocolate brown? ( remember that the chairs are avacado green)

So to tell you a little about my room; the furniture is either going to be medium brown wood or beech (light) wood. My bedding is navy blue. So what colour do you think I should paint my room. I like a soothing, modern look, and don't want anything too dark.
Thanks for your help.

hi guys, i want to keep a plant/small tree in my living room and kitchen in big pots. There isnt much sunlight in these rooms in my house. Infact i shoud say there will be no sunlight at all. It wont be dark too, the daylight comes in though in the daytime. I want you guys to help me out by giving me names of some plants/trees that are, beautiful to look at, perennial, sold in Toronto, and are which dont need any sunlight at all and grow well indoors. You can help me by sending me links to the plants too.

We have HUGE Wolf Spiders around our house. We live in the country. I have 3 children. I've been told they aren't poisonous. I thought all spider bites were poisonous, should I be concerned?

Thanks,

ScareCrow from Contech keeps animals out with a wide spray, too wide, and that would prevent my cats from enjoying their own yard. I just need to route the sprinklers around the perimetry of the wooden privacy fence so when the motion sensor(s) detect them approaching the fence they will get dowsed at about 3 to 4 ft in from the fence and go back into the yard and stay home. I have contacted irrigation companies here in San Antonio but no reply yet on the motion-sensory activated part of what I want, just the sprinkler/irrigation part. I have seen motion sensors that turn on lights, open garage doors, close curtains, but other than ScareCrow I have not seen any information about tripping a sprinkler system. I have even thought about the produce section misting systems that come on intermittently. Any ideas would be very welcome.
