Scrape off the big chunks and let the blanket air out. Take it to a commercial laundry and use the large double or triple load machine. The type of blanket you have will determine how you dry it. Make the puke-or reimburse the puke-ee for any expenses incurred, including labor.

Scrape as much as you can from it into the toilet and then wash the blanket regularly.
Adding some vinegar to the rinse cycle can help eliminate any remaining smells.

Clean off big parts first, even take it outside and spray with the hose to clean it off. You can first put it through a soak cycle, and put in some vinegar while it soaks. Then wash. You can spray it with stain remover, and can also add vinegar to the cycle.
