the installers for my new washer and dryer said that the gasket is leaking and they should be "re-packed" by a professional or replaced. And no, they didn't offer to do it for a fee. This looks pretty easy to do. Is is really as easy as going and getting new valve stems, shutting the main water off and replacing them?

Landscapers started putting our lawn in today. It had lots of and very long weeds, wild grasses and wildflowers growing. They spread out black dirt over the entire lawn without doing anything to the weeds, just left them there as is. They are then going to sod over the black dirt. Is this a dissaster waiting to happen? Thanks in advance:)

I came home tonight, after a storm had passed over my area to find that one of the electrical sockets in my house is dead. Its the one that I use for my computer and telephone....

All the equipment is working fine, Ive got an extension cord hooked up to the surge protector at the moment and everything is good....

I have tried re-setting all of the switches on the switch board, twice, and nothing it didnt make a difference...

Is there anything else that I can do or do I need to call the power company or an electrician???

Thanks everyone!!!

Ok, So my TV fell down from its spot and doesn't work anymore... Don't ask... So when I turn the TV on, It starts to tun on, than turns off. and randomly turns on and off. I heard rattling in the TV, so I opened the back and it was just pieces of plastic. But I was looking at the stuff, and found a piece of chipped circuit board and the same board is cracked. I have pics at the end of a few things. The first pic is of the chipped piece. Is it really detremental that it chipped off? The second and third pics are of the circuit board and you can see a crack in it right along the chip. The second one points it out and the third w/o marks. Is there a way to fix it w/o taking it to a specialist, or is the board just shot? Help please!!

The Pics:

I don't expect an exact quote, but would like an idea. I'm in Missouri and have a fully furnished 1bdrm 891 sq ft apartment with 2 cats.
How much can I expect to pay for a weekly cleaning?
What type of services are reasonable for me to expect?

Purple, gray, black, pink, and either red or orange.

Black and purple not as much of main colors.

What colors would look together if these don't? Please use some of my original colors if you have a new idea.

I am a teen, so I hope that helps you decide if these are the right colors. Thanks in advance, I hope......=P

I have an old hot tub, its about 18 years i would say. I have been trying to get it going again (its been about 4 years)...it has the usual problems you would expect..the pump didnt work, but i got it fixed. Everything runs great now...except the heater.

The top of the hot tub has a thing that tells you that it is calling for the heater to kick in, so a light comes on. But there is no heat. Theres a "heat indicator light" under the hot tub, and it is not coming on at all. Its not the thermistat, i know that cause it calls for heat, the heater just does not come on. Any ideas?

I don't know what it would be called but I want it gone! It is black buildup on the corners of my kitchen floor along my walls and refrigorator. How do I get rid of it? The floor isn't tile. It is like paper stuff that was just layed down in there. I can't quite explain it. But is there anything I can do to get rid of all of this black buildup that mopping won't do? It has been there for years. I can't replace the floor because I do not own the home and my landlord does not want to pay to have it replace. What can I do? Really.

Thanks ahead of time!

I just moved into a condo and the old (very old) washer dryer in the closet is on its last leg. Its an old Frigidaire stackable that vents right into the closet. I can't believe people do that. I've been doing some research and decided I’m going to need a ventless dryer to keep my sanity because sending all that moisture into the house is stupid.. Even though I've spent hours searching the web I can't find good info or really good product guides. I want a stackable washer dryer, with the dryer being ventless. Plus my door opening is only 25 inches : ( Does anyone know of this type of stackable? If worse comes to worse, I guess I’ll have to go with the washer and dryer in one combined machine.

I have a lamp that I purchased on Ebay and re-wired. It is from the 60s or 70s, tall, like a living room type of lamp. I need a lamp shade to match the era. Does anyone know where I can find a retro or vintage lamp shade to fit my lamp? I keep looking on Ebay, but can't seem to find just the right one; and I don't want to pay an arm & a leg for it either. Any help will be appreciated.

The transaxel seems to engage and turn top pulley when pushed. The brake rod spring came loose or has been disconnected Both belts seem to be in fair shape but not very tight. This stopped driving when the speed lever was moved while moving after cutting grass. This is a 1992 Ranch king model 132-450F205 . 12 hp 7 speed. Thanks in advance.

I can find hundreds of questions about how long a particular type of food is supposed to last, but I can't find the operating lifetime of a refrigerator.

Assuming it is a quality name brand type. If it is off brand what is the quickest amount of time refrigerators can stop functioning properly. We have a offbrand piece of junk that is only a couple years old, but it can only cool down to 50 deg inside the main part.
