I bought a dishwasher ant will receive it tomorow (it's a frigidaire, basic model). Will it come with all the necessary pipes needed for installation or do I need to buy that at the hardware store?

I have a metal exterior door and the magnetic weather strip seams to be coming off on the lower end of the door. Can I replace this strip with a new one or is there some kind of better easier strip not magnetic that I can use?

I've heard so many people lately say that too much cleaning is bad for your home and children's immune systems. But then, you get warnings to clean countertops daily because of food/meat germs. What is a safe level (a good balance) of cleaning your home without going overboard?

I vacuum regularly (house every 2-4 weeks, every week in kitchen) I only wash my hardwoods maybe once a month or two months, or longer. But I wash/vacuum the kitchen floor more often (son eats things off floor if I slip up). I wash countertops almost daily with METHOD cleaner (easy on lungs and environment). Sink every 2 weeks or so w/Ajax with Bleach. The only thing I use Clorox wipes on is the diaper pail maybe once a month because my son teethes the handle. I use Palmolive original soap for dishes. These are estimates.

Am I overdoing anything? How do you find a balance?

We don't have a lake or pond in our yard(we do have a little 5ft pond but that can't be it) and we have many more dragonflies this year . We strated a Bird and Butterfly garden last year and maybe that also attracts dragonflies . But I don't know for sure .
And what do dragonflies do ? What attracts them ? And do you know how many different varieties there are ?

I recently planted two heirloom tomato plants in 8 gallon pots from a gardening store. Planted in potting mix with some added granules which maintain moisture. Growing very well so far. Fastest I've seen tomatoes grow.

I should have gotten larger pots. I've read that the larger growing heirloom plants (indeterminate) need a larger growing space than smaller commercial plants (determinate) for best results. So I want to transfer the plants to containers of larger size. At **least** 15 gallons and tall so the roots have room to grow.

The 8 gallon pots I bought were sort of expensive, even thought they were on sale. So I'm looking for advice on what would be a cheap large sized container (15+ gallon) and where to buy.

i'm decorating my back yard, which has a pool, with fencing around it, and was interested in getting cute lights to put around it with tiki torches, etc. the only problem is that we do not have more than one plug in which is closest to the house..any lights that we could possibly connect to it would have to go through the pool. is there such thing as a portable plug-in device in which you could plug something into without having to make another outlet? if not do you have any other ideas to help me out? thank you so much!

I am moving into my first house this week, and I'm excited to start a garden. But, I'm worried that nothing will grow since it's already June. Is there anything I can plant right now?

(My garden site is partial shade, and I haven't tested the soil yet.)

I have a Citizen watch that is suppose to be water proof, but I had the chrystal replaced last year and apparently it wasn't sealed correctly. I went swimming over a week ago and ended up with water inside the watch which hasn't dried yet. I've tried leaving it under a lamp for a few hours and it didn't work. I don't have the receipt for the work that was done so I'm resorting to home remedies.

Any ideas?

Yesterday my air conditioning was running. I accidently ripped the electronic thermostat off the wall. When I tried to put it back on without turning off the electricity; it appeared to remain dead. I bought a new thermostat, but the unit still did not kick on. I have a dual unit upstairs and downstairs. downstairs is working fine. Furnace seems to be operating normal. Inspected the furnace, but didn't see anything wrong and the other unit is running fine off of it. The fuses outside the air cond. itself is working fine because i tried it in the unit that was working. I really don't know what else to do or try prior to having a tech come out. Would really appreciate any and all help possible. Thanks,Steve

Let's just say I had a horrible Friday night. Someone threw up in my car, which caused a chain reaction with another person, so I has 2 pukers in one night, in my car. After 2 hours at the car wash (god bless that guy), my car still smells. A whole bottle of Febreeze didn't work. Air fresheners only cover the smell, but I want to eliminate it. People have suggested Lysol. Also, someone said to sprinkle corn starch all over the seats, let it sit, and then vaccum it up. Anybody know anything that will work for sure??

I have a lot of bumps in my yard and I was thinking of using a ground tamper to flatten them. Would that work or would I just be waisting my time. Thanks.

I just bought what the nursery called a "spice ginger plant." Does this mean the root is edible? The leaves are long (12 inches +), dark green and glossy but not very thick (compared to, say, orchids). There are no blooms at the moment but it does give off a nice spicy fragrance.
