The transaxel seems to engage and turn top pulley when pushed. The brake rod spring came loose or has been disconnected Both belts seem to be in fair shape but not very tight. This stopped driving when the speed lever was moved while moving after cutting grass. This is a 1992 Ranch king model 132-450F205 . 12 hp 7 speed. Thanks in advance.

I can shift it from reverse to neutral and forward with shifter and if you rock mower it will move the top pulley the right way.

There is a good chance that you broke the shifting dogs in the transaxel if this is not a shift on the fly unit. New parts are about $25 and the transaxle has to be removed and taken apart. I took mine apart a few years back and the first thing I did was take some pictures of it so I could get it back together. Turned out it wasn't that bad of a job. The axle unit is full of grease so it is messy but not hard.

I think it could be either: (1) The belt is on wrong -- Try putting the belt on in accordance with the manual (2) The mower deck is engaged when you are trying to start it up. Engines cant get up to speed with all that load at first
