I am trying to make a 'wall' of wooden posts up against a 'cliff' of clay soil as part of a garden feature. I hope they will act like a gamion keeping the clay soil from falling onto the lower terrace where our seating is planned. However, trying to keep the 5' posts not only straight and perpendicular but also as close together as possible so they almost touch is proving very difficult. The poles are 5' and it is hoped that they will be at least 1.5 feet into the ground. I am about to try putting in post number 1, leave a post width and then put in post number 3 etc and then after reaching the end go back and put in the 'missing' posts in the hope that they will all stay parallel. However, your suggestions would be most welcome!

They resemble a round race track. Where as, the track itself is bare from grass. There are about 4 of them all different in circumference.

I have been fighting it for a few years. I really don't like the baby blue Vinyl siding. I heard you can paint it. Has anyone done so? How did it turn out? What did you use? I live in New England.

Main question: Are there any flowers or flower seeds that you can plant in gravel?

In my grandma's backyard next to the garage there is a big mound of gravel pebbles mixed with dirt all along the side of the garage. My mom says it's been there since she can remember. It's in the shape of a big rectangle and it comes out about 3 1/2 feet and is the length of the entire side of the garage. It would be such a beautiful spot to put flowers. Any suggestions of how I can work with this spot?

I just moved into a new place and when you are running the water and pull up the shower thing half the flow remains at the bath faucet and the rest goes to the shower. The pressure is low, and I imagine that is due to half the water running out of the faucet still. What can I do?

Hi everyone. I'm looking to control a grub issue in my lawn, vegetable, and flower gardens. I prefer to use organic means which leads me to milky spore. Does anyone have any experience with any online suppliers of the stuff? I have about 1500 square feet total that needs to be treated. Also, what is the best time to put milky spore down? Thanks in advance.

The ones that have solar panels and and when night time comes they automatically turn on. How do they work? This is for a DIY project I want to try. Also how much power to solar panels generate? What size do solar panels come in? Do they come in the small size that are on solar lights? Also can you buy those solar panels and where?

The service line was made out of plastic and it was bumped from the inside which I believe cracked it outside the foundation. I still have good pressure, however the city came out and we determined that there is a leak just outside the foundation and my backyard resembles the everglades. I can think of 3 fixes
1. Excavate the whole front yard and rerun a line
2. Pull a line through the existing line
3. bust out the foundation wall and repair from the inside.
estimates of cost and best practices would be appreciated.

It is made of brick and concrete and has a top coating like some sort of plaster. The top coating is deteriorating with age and is cracking and very untidy looking. What should I use to resurface it?

Ok....here's the deal...the woman that lived in my house before my husband bought it was paint-obsessed. Apparently she painted every room any number of times...from sponging EVERY room (including the ceiling) to spatter painting EVERY room, to painting a little picket fence around all the interior walls. Right before my husband bought the house, she "faux-log-cabined" the ENTIRE house (yes, even the siding and the bedroom floors). The outside doesn't look too bad, but the inside is driving me nuts as I feel like I live in a cardboard box. It's been taking 3 coats of 1-coat paint to cover this up. Now heres the question....she painted the tub/shower. It's one of the regular fiberglass tubs (I think that's what they're made of) but there's like 3 coats of paint on it. There's the outside tan and white, then under that is blue and white and under that is red and white. It peels up when ever we shower. How do I get the rest off without damaging the shower surface?

Assume my home insurance policy has $200,000 dwelling coverage, but my home is only worth $130,000. If my home burns down, will they rebuild up to a $200,000 home or only replace what my home was?

For example, if my current home only has 1 garage stall, would they build my new home with 2 garage stalls?

putting diesel fuel in the spark plug hole for a couple of days drying it out and pulling the rope slowing...I think diesel fuel is just about the same as the gasoline with oil mix that you put in the fuel hole...so I used that...If I dry it out good will that work ok?

What are the pros and cons of EACH? We are moving into a house that has an older gas fireplace. Our inspector says he personally likes wood and we should convert it back. My husband also likes wood and thinks the point of a fireplace is to save on gas/electric bills. I agree with that, but I'd like to know the good and the bad about both gas and wood.
Thanks

I have a very pretty, all white, comforter for a queen sized bed, that I love, the onlly problem is that my dog had an accident on it!! So now I need to get it clean, So would taking it to get dry cleaned be better or is it fine to just machine wash it? And what would be the price to have a big comforter like that dry cleaned??
