Old remedy here that I got from the paper years ago. If you have lots of them use a cup of bleach, a half cup of dish washer granules---plug the kitchen sink, put your bleach etc. in add really hot water and stir till the dish washer soap disolves, add enough hot water to cover your socks, let them set and roll over once in a bit and when the water is cooled off drain the sink and rinse at least once maybe twice and you should have way white socks. Do not use this on colored clothes and wear old stuff when you do it because if you splash it will mess up your duds. It works!!

Well this is how I get my kids socks whiter than white. I use the good old fashioned soap bar , soap. You know the kind for washing clothes , it´s normally brown in color. You can buy this in any hardware store. First soak the socks in cold water, remove from the water and rub in the soap. Leave the sock´s like this, with the soap on and free from water,1/2 should be enough. This lets the soap sink in. Now back to the cold water , give then a rub, add more soap . This time leaving the soap on pop them into your machine on a 40ºc wash,as soon as that´s finished ,hang them outside in the sun , the sun will do the rest of the work for you , by bleaching out any stains the natural way.
