I have tried poision peanuts, smoke bombs, water down their tunnels and hitting them over their heads with shovels. I know it's mean but, I don't want my yard to look like the GRAND CANYON! What can I do? I heard that otters or some kind of animal like that can chase them out. Have any suggestions?

We have bees accumulating around our apple tree - the apples have fallen. We want to pick up the apples but the bees are too many. In addition we have a dog who sometimes eats the apples so we want to avoid poison.

Anyone know how to lower the temputure gauge on my boiler? When it's running alot it gets up to about 20--but I know the normal is suppose to be about 14-15. I tried turning this one valve but it raised it cuz I didn't know it was the one that fed water into it. My plumber tells me not to be concerned--but I am cuz it bangs alot.

I've just made some fitted wardrobes in the bedroom and want a mirror to fit it. Would a glaziers sell them cut to size, or would buying a 2nd hand mirror and having that cut down to size be the best/cheapest way? Or do B&Q do it?

My teen daughter thinks nothing of using the tumble dryer for 1 hour to dry 1 t-shirt.... ON A SUNNY DAY! And also thinks nothing of putting the central heating on full when a cloud appears in the sky, then opening the windows because she gets too warm. When I say anything... I'm old and moany. I'm only 34 but I hate being ripped off by the energy companies overpricing us.

I have gas central heating, from a combi boiler. In summer I only use the central heating when required, but I leave the hot water switch on all day. Is this more cost effective that just switching on the hot water when I require it? Energy prices going through the damn roof!!!

My house reeks of mothballs, my guess is that they are in the (now sealed) crawlspaces and possibly walls. I have three kids and two cats, how can I remove this odor quickly from my house? It goes away when all windows are open and all fans are on, but considering it is starting to get chilly outside I need a more permanent remedy. Any useful suggestions?

Our family seems fine, but I notice black spots which I take to be mold on the part of the unit that blows out the cold air (not the filter, which is clean). Is there a safe disinfectant that can be sprayed inside the unit?
