attempt to scrape away as lots of the gum as obtainable, utilising a spatula or spoon. next, vacuum or brush up any loose products left. If there continues to be some gum clinging to the carpet fibres, rub a plastic bag crammed with ice cubes over the section, till the gum fragments freeze. you could now chip them gently away utilising a spatula or spoon back. finally, you could dissolve any very final strains by ability of dabbing with dry-cleansing fluid and then blotting dry, accompanied by ability of a answer of ¼ tsp mild washing up detergent and a million cup water, earlier rinsing thoroughly. while you're fairly having hassle, do no longer panic - any advertisement carpet air purifier with a warm water extraction unit (steam air purifier) could have the potential to eliminate the gum, even regardless of if that's an previous stain - you could continuously call on them as a final hotel.

try some oil, it may help or you could buy a can of Citrol. Schaeffer Mfg. makes it and it takes out all kinds of stains! Works on magic marker, gum from lables, mechanic's oil and grease and so much more! It's a little expensive, but well worth it! Go on line to Schaeffer's site to order if you decide to get some. Make sure to test for color fastness before you use it! Best of luck!

At this point I would say you should just cut out the rest of the gum. Using peanut butter could possibly get it out but would just cause a bigger mess to clean up later.

Put ice cubes directly on the gum to freeze it. Then you can break it off the carpet if its not ground in and vacuum it.

You can go to an Autozone or Kragen auto parts store and purchse an item called "Ooops!" if the clerk says i dunno what that is..tell them, you have sticker residue on your window and you want that gunk from the sticker to be removed....and Ooops can also be used to remove gum from carpet.. Good Luck..
