There is a pipe that sticks out in the side of my house that drips water from the AC. Since it's been so hot, the AC is practically going nonstop and is creating a great big muddy puddle outside. It's caused a dip (path) because it's eroded the soil.

Any ideas on what to do so it doesn't create such a muddy mess?

I just went outside to water the lawn and noticed that the bottom of the AC unit is wet and is actually growing mildew. The AC unit is in the side of the house sitting on a big square slab of concrete to keep it level. The other AC unit (for the 2nd floor of the house) is dry as can be, but this one is just went. This can't be good? How bad is this? Should I call an HVAC person ASAP?

I have cayenne peppers growing in my garden. When they were green, they looked great. But now that they are turning red, the ends are drying and shriveling up...it almost looks like they are burning up from the inside (ha ha). What am I doing wrong?? Thanks!

OK, so 3 months ago, my sister and I moved into one of the housing units in my home town. So far we have had 3 complaints about noise, 1st was our neighbour could hear us partying. The 2nd was when someone was banging at my door trying to get in. And the 3rd was my neighbour is claiming one of my guests damaged their vehicle. And now people are telling me I should appeal it, and what exactly does appeal mean, is this the best way to go about it? So the 2nd complaint is not really my fault I don't recall anyone trying to get in, and as well as the 3rd complaint because I had no clue what they are talking about up until yesterday. I have talked to housing yesterday, and the manager explained that I can go to the board meeting next week and talk with the board members or appeal it... so what should I do? I live in a very small town, and there is one place that have apartments but there are no apartments available until next month. And I have less than two weeks to vacate. Answers plz.

A carpenter gave me some very nice wood, and we will use
it for a nice cutting board in the kitchen, but should we season it
with any special oil before using in order to seal the wood.

We are looking at a house that has been lifted up and a basement has been poured underneath. There is a vertical crack that looks slightly like a J, on the north wall. I love the house but don't want to buy it if it is going to be a big headache.

We're having oil fired central heating fitted and I've heard lots of bad reports about it. We are having a grant towards it and oil is the only option.

I'm about to my my very first house. My husband and I want to pick some nice colors to paint several rooms with, but we're having a hard time visualizing them. Is there a website out there that you can build your living room, and try out different colors for your wall?

It's a strong chemical odor that's similar to mothballs, but isn't quite the same. How does one get rid of it safely? I've noticed it on some things from 99-cent stores and other bargain stores. I recently bought a leather chair (not THAT inexpensive) with the odor & would like to get rid of the smell without throwing the chair out.

Serious suggestions only, please. If you don't have any idea what I mean or don't have a solution, just move on to the next question, okay?

Thanks.

I got a red and white petunia for free from Lowes on Mother's Day, put it in a big planter in front of our deck. It's grown like crazy! It's overflowing from the pot. I've been deadheading the blooms, just like you're supposed to, and I drop the dead blooms back into the pot. Now I've got new petunias growing next to the original one, but they're that hot pink/purple-ish color. I've talked to my mom about it and she's never seen this happen before. She's a big flower nut, and has been planting and growing flowers for ages. I'm just curious if anyone else out there has ever had this happen to them.

My living room has 9 ft ceilings, taller in the center, but I just want to paint the walls one color & leave the trim white. The room is about 15 X 18 ft. I want an idea before I even think about hiring someone. If it is too much, I will do it myself.
