My son has an expensive sleeping bag that got wet when out basement flooded, subsequently it the wet spots turned into Mildew. Does anyone know of any ways to remove mildew out of cotton?

I would try Oxiclean on the Mildew spots and then wash in a front loading washing machine with Lysol concentrate and hang in sun. If this dont work I would just trash it and get another one

I think the best thing to do, even though it's expensive, it to get rid of it. Bleach kills mildew, but it will ruin the sleeping bag. Besides, the mildew may make your son sick.
